Aiu ripoff Internet

I enrolled thinking I was getting a marketing degree in July 2003. Why did I think that? The advisor at AIU told me that Visual Communications was the same thing as a Marketing degree but better.

After the first sememster I was aware that this wasn't quite what I was looking for but I tried over and over to get an advisor to let me change degrees or discuss with me options and they kept saying that since the program had just begun it would take time for it to get to my specialty area.

I had problems with my 5th class from the end because of a problem pregnancy and because of issues with the teacher and advised my "advisor" of this (at this point this was my 4th or 5th one) and he advised me to just take it over once I failed the course. I did. Then I had to repeat it AGAIN because they advised me to re-take part 2 instead of part 1 that I TOLD them that was where I had had a "disconnect". I TOLD them I couldn't pass it but they said that I had to.

By the 3rd time I took it they told me I needed to pay for an additional $3K to keep in the class that I was just getting the hang of. Because I told them that the charges wouldn't have been made had I been correctly advised the first time & refused to take out more loans they blocked me from completeing the class & I had yet ANOTHER failure on my hands!

ALL of this time I tried to contact the director of the program over and over and over via phone, email and letter but I kept getting this girl named Michelle who said that she was just a Junior advisor but I had to give her the information & couldn't talk to the Director.

Finally I had just had it. 4 Classes from completeing my degree and 5 months left of my GI bill I withdrew. I KNEW what had happened could NOT have been legal! I have no idea what my recourse is or what to do now. It's almost time to start paying for these bogus classes now & I STILL have no degree!
