Allied Collection Service Unprofessional and hung up on me Dallas Texas

My husband and I lived in the Vista Crossing apartments for almost 6 years! When we bought our house we paid the last month's rent and moved out. Granted the apartment wasn't in tip top shape after 6 years and there were some stains on the carpet. We left a forwarding address and about 4 months into our new home my husband received a collections letter from Allied Collection Service. The apartment complex sent him to the collection agency for $174.72. The first sentance reads "You have failed to respond to previous correspondance." The apartment complex had our forwarding address but we never received a letter. Earl Davis at ext 755 called my husband to collect so my husband turned it over to me to deal with since I too am in collections. I asked Earl if this was a 3rd party collections agency and he said he could not discuss any account information with me that he did not feel comfortable answering my question. I let him know it was a general question that he was allowed to answer what type of collection agency this place was and he hung up on me!! He let my husband know before I spoke to him that he could take a post dated check if we did not have the money. Yeah right like we're going to give some rip off collections agency our bank account information. These people are very unprofessional and rude. It would be wise for companies to stay away from businesses such as this because they only end up pissing people off who don't end up paying anyway out of spite. And as far as the apartment complex goes, people beware!!! They are another pain in the a*s business that likes to pinch every penny possible out of people who have left them because we let them and don't do anything about it.
