I purchased an extended warranty from Alpha warranty services hoping I would never need to use it.  Well as luck would have it I started having transmission problems.  They told me that I could find a replacment transmission myself or they could find one.  The only thing is with the one they provide there would be a 12 month warranty if anything would go wrong with it in that time they would replace it with another.  Well that would not be the case!  It started leaking fluid so I contacted the Alpha warranty and they told me to take to a mechanic and have it checked out.  When the transmission shop contacted Alpha warranty to inform them about the leak they told him that they would not cover the leaking transmission.  If I would have known this when they got their replacment transmission with high milege and I had found my own with low milege.  I wish I would have just used my own replacment.  I know I will never use Alpha warranty again nor will I recommend Alpha warranty services to anyone.

Alpha Warranty Paid $2009.50 Transmission Claim, Unrelated Leak

AUTHOR: Alpha Warranty Services, Inc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 24, 2012

We are very sorry to hear that this customer was disappointed with his recent paid transmission claim. We recognize that finding out that repairs are required on your vehicle is not welcome news. Our company promise is to offer fast, reliable service of superior quality, delivering this service with integrity. If we haven't delivered on this promise, we want to know about it so we can remedy the situation. Please contact us at concerns at alphawarranty.com.

We are glad to see that despite this frustration, the customer was able to obtain coverage when his transmission failed. In fact, we paid $2009.50 to replace his transmission.

We would like to take the opportunity to provide additional information on the claim that the customer is referring to. As mentioned above, Alpha Warranty Services did cover his transmission claim to the tune of $2009.50. The customer mentions that we sent a high mileage transmission. It appears that the customer is confused about the quality of the transmission we sent. The transmission we sent had only 45,000 miles on it. This mileage is quite low considering the fact that the customers vehicle had 150,236 miles at the time of the claim. We feel this provided the customer with a much newer transmission considering the high mileage of his vehicle.

As the customer mentions, he later contacted our claims department stating that the transmission was leaking. It was determined that the leaks were caused by seals that were not replaced when the transmission was replaced. His repair facility was sent documentation instructing them to replace the seals in question. Unfortunately, the repair facility did not follow those instructions.

What we wish to make clear is that we instructed his repair facility that it is highly recommended to replace those seals and they chose not to do so. Those leaking seals were not part of the transmission that we sent to the repair facility. They were original to the vehicle. Again, the transmission we sent has experienced no failures at all. If it does, we will replace it during his warranty period.

We do understand the frustration caused by these leaking seals but we feel that these frustrations are targeting the wrong company. We feel that the customer should address these concerns with the repair facility that he elected to take his vehicle to as they neglected to replace the seals.

We do regret this customers frustration but encourage people to review the entire facts for themselves and make an informed decision. Our customers and their feedback are very important to us.
