American Airlines Ms. Veronica Muse who works for American Airlines contacted me on Monday, February 20, 2017, to tell me that American Airlines would be denying my claim for destroying my laptop. After asking Ms. Muse to put this in writing she declined. Once, I received Damaged claims not being honored just conversation circle jerking. Phoneix Arizona

 On Monday, February 20, 2017, I received a call from Ms. Veronica Muse about my damaged laptop. Ms. Muse told me that American Airlines was not going to pay my claim for the $500.00 for my laptop that they destroyed. This is after, I sent them pictures of my laptop, the tag that American Airlines put on my bag. This is the result of almost a month of emails. After I asked Ms. Muse to put the decision in writing with American Airlines letterhead she emailed me the letter instead. I emailed the President of American Airlines, Mr. Doug Parker. Instead of Mr. Parker emailing me back or calling me, I receive a phone call from Ms. Melanie Tatum who commences to "circle jerk" me after they got wind of me contacting Mr. Parker. I asked Ms. Tatum why was she calling me and she told me that she received an email from Mr. Parkers Secretary. When I asked for the secretaries name Ms. Tatum stated that she did not know it. I asked Ms. Tatum to put what she told me in writing with on American Airlines letterhead instead she emailed me. I decided to call the phone number Ms. Tatum called me from (480) 517-9230 and instead of it saying American Airlines the phone just rang. American Airlines is running a clandestine organization when it comes to damaged baggage claims. I believe they are filing our claims with the insurance company and getting paid. This is why they don't want to mail out any letters especially with American Airlines letterhead on it like I requested. I also believe the money from the insurance claims are going into the pockets of Corporate while Ms. Muse and Ms. Tatum receive bonus checks.

 While Im 100% sure YOU think you know how it all works the reality is you are ignorant in the situation. Insurance in ANY of its forms is meant to make you "whole". Be it a car crash or a damaged laptop. By being made "whole" it doesnt mean that YOU get to set the prices on the claim. What YOU are submitting is the cost of a NEW laptop and face reality YOUR laptop didnt go straight from the box into YOUR travel bag. It was USED. Meaning THEY only have to replace the amount that YOUR current laptop would be worth being that its used. That isnt going to be $500.00. That is just being greedy on YOUR part. YOU have an issue and look at it as a chance for YOU to get ahead by getting a BETTER laptop at THIER expense. As for your CLAIM that THEY are just cashing in on the insurance and keeping the money. Yet again it DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!!!!! The insurance adjuster MUST take possesion of the items BEFORE any check would be paid out. In the case of LOST luggage an approximate value is assinged. In the case of DAMAGED luggage the luggage must be approved and PROVEN to be damaged by an employee of the company that is insured. IF you cannot provide PROOF of damage then THEY are going to deny your claim. So in order for a check to be issued there MUST be proof of an employee damaging the item, by admission or some other form of HARD EVIDENCE. Pictures OR physical possesion of said item WITH proof of damage. And then finally, a check would be issued in the amount that the item would be worth to buy the EXACT same item in the EXACT same condition. If all YOU did was take pictures of your laptop AFTER THE FACT with NO PROOF that THEY caused the damages then THEY are going to assume that YOU are trying to scam THEM into giving YOU something you dont deserve. YOU would need time stamped pictures of the laptop BEFORE you handed it off to the ppl handling the luggage. PROOF that THEY are the ones who damaged it. NOT assumption, ADMISSION OF FAULT. Then pictures of the laptop AFTER you arrived WITH time stamps. It doesnt hurt to have an employee verify the damaged BEFORE you even took it out of the airport. SOrry but this is how it is and YOU have no one to blame but your fellow citizens who have so abused the system that those safeguards MUST be met.

No one but YOU knows for sure that what YOU CLAIM is the truth. THEY must assume that each and every claim IS FRAUD!! They have to do this or they couldnt keep paying thier own employees. We ALL KNOW that people will say ANYTHING they think they can get away with in order to get thier way. No matter WHO it hurts. As long as THEY get thier way and what THEY want. Im reminded of the "Mystery Box". You know the story. Press the button on the box and some RANDOM person dies and YOU get to be rich. The same theory applies.
