American General Does not give you a chance East Ridge Tennessee

I bought a camper and it was financed through american general in east ridge tn. In the loan in order to get the camper i had to have 2000.00 down on the camper. I was told that I could put up my truck that was paid for as coladeral and if I paid the 2000.00 when i had it or paid on the camper for two year that I would get the title back. I was so wrong. They told me that I could not have the title back because I had some late fees and in order to get it I would have to pay the late fees and pay on the camper for 12 months at 340.00 a month or 5000.00 and the truck was not worth that the value of it is only 1500.00. I was forced to file bankrupcy and when I did I chose to let the camper go and when I asked about the truck they said that I would have to redeem it for 3500.00 then my attornies got them down to 2500.00. Well all they have done is hound my attornies and not really gave me a chance to redeem the truck. I can not get a loan for anything unless my bankrupcy is discharged and it has yet to be discharged. They are coming to get the truck and not giving me a chance. They put the truck down as part of the camper as it was holding the value on a brand new camper straight from coachman dealer. now you tell me this was a old truck, over 10 yrs old, holding the value of a brand new camper. I know that I screwed up the lady that did my loan still works there and could have told them that this was part of the contract and did not do so. I know that I signed a paper when I turned over the title to them but it is missing and when they sent me a copy of the loan they had it as coladeral. So be careful with these people and only barrow against what you are put a loan on. Do not put anyhting else as coladeral. This is predatory lendering in my book. They also lied to me and my spouse.

This is just a warning to anyone that deals with them that they can do one thing and say another always make sure that it is writing and get a copy before you leave the office. Because these guys do not care about you. The customer! Now we have no way to get my husband to work but get up at 3:30 in the morning and get him me and three kids off the work and day care.
