America's Servicing Company refused to give a payoff quote, my loan officer requested it over 5 time and never received it Des Moines Iowa

I owed ASC Approx $5300...I was in the prosess of buying a new house and using my old one to get the line of credit needed for the down payment. My loan officer tried to get a payoff quote at least five times and all we would hear that they would fax it,of course the fax would never come.

So, we took the last statement princible balance and overpayed them $500.00 The bank sent them a cashiers check for $5800.00 on the 4th of May, (the payment is due on the 1St). We moved on with the HELOC. On the 24th of May I get a "collection call" from ASC,saying they have not recieved my May payment. So, I tell the Rep the story and tell them The check MUST be LOST in the mail and why in the hell are you telling my this seven days past the 15th?? I called my Bank and told them they said they never recieved the check. My Bank put a STOP PAYMENT on the check since we figured it was lost. The Bank transfered the money to my personal checking account so I could pay them myself.

On the 27th of May, fearing that I would get dinged for a 30 day late payment on the crdit report, I tried to pay them off via thier website. It would not let me pay more that the payment due PLUS THE LATE FEE. So I just payed the payment (and fee).

Well, three days later, I get a call from ASC congraduating me for paying off my loan. I told the rep that the check you cashed is no good. It has a stop payment on it. We thought it was lost. I told him that I have told at least 4 or 5 of you idiots the same thing. It got real quite on the other end of the phone. THEY WAITED FOR OVER 24 DAYS TO CASH THE CHECK!!!

Then a "payoff officer" calls me...wants me to replace the check.(remember that the check was for $500 more than the balance showed on the statement and I just made a payment...when I asked about that he said they would put it in a escrow account...I figured it would take a act of Congress to get my money from them...so I told him Hell No...I'm not sending you a dime untill I get a accurate payoff.....HE STILL REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE PAYOFF AND THE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS TO WELLS FARGO......I told him that my Bank has washed their hands of them and that there will not be a replacement check from them. THE SOB TRIED EVERTHING HE COULD TO KEEP MY $500 and the payment I just made. I asked him why he was making this so difficult...I JUST NEED A PAYOFF QUOTE!!!

Thier problem was that the note had been reported as PAYED IN FULL, but they had no money. I told the idiot, " how can you have $750.00 in escrow for me when the check you cashed was no good???" YOU HAVE NO MONEY FROM ME!!!!

since he would not give me the wiring instructions I told him to either send them to my Bank or my attorney...I gave him both numbers...

The next day my bank had the wiring instructions and the correct payoff amount. I wired it to wells fargo that day and kept my $750.00 in MY ACCOUNT

ASC really has a problem with thier customer service or lack there of. It was like they did not want to be payed off.

They taged me for a late fee of $11.72 and 20 days interest (approx $41.00) IT was worth it just to get RID OF THEM.....what a bunch of Morons.
