What do I do? I received a letter form Asset Acceptance in regards to a 20 year old debt. They are very pushy and threatening. They say I must post date checks etc. I stupidly gave them my bank information and post dated the checks. Is there anyway to get out of this now. I did find out that it shows up on my credit report now but wasn't there 6 months ago when I bought a house. I am scared to death about what to do! Do I cancel my checking account and start over? Any body have any ideas? I felt so pressured and didn't think this through better.
