First of all they try to give you a free UMX phone. Do not accept this phone. It's most horrendous, unworkable, junk you will ever own. They do this to get you to consider buying a phone from their website which is higher priced. The catch is that you cannot purchase a phone from any other company like ebay, amazon, best buy, micro center or they tell you that will not work on their network because they "reprogrammed" their network.   They also refuse to let  you buy an unlocked phone of your choice and budget, and use that. They refuse with  no expanation, just: it's not policy.

The reason for all of this is to get you to buy a better phone than the one they give you and force you to buy from their overpriced website so they can make profits galore on you.

Please report them to the Gov't, FTC, and your local congressman. They are ripping off all of their customers and someone has to step in and do something.

The answer to your question would be if there was a mishandling of a person by police. How does getting an independant prosecutor help, since they are all in law enforcement.

answer: because not everyone is bad in an agency. And there are levels upon levels, departments withing departments, and somewhere along the line someone may be ethical enough to stop it.

answer to rebutal: sorry you don't get it pal

to review: It' a scam because:

1. forcing only one phone on you that's majorly defective and they know it/

2. if you want another phone, you can't buy it anywhere. They are forcing you to buy it from their own subsidiary website where they are vastly overprice compared to everywhere on the web that you can get the same phone.

3. They can, but refuse to process an unlocked phone of your choice like all other carriers do to force you to buy a better phone only from their 3rd party subsidiary.

And just as a side note, there are some corrupt people that work in various dept of the govt or industry that are prosecuted each year. Reporting it could call attention to this rip-off and possibly someone or ones may be held accountable. Somebodies getting kick backs for all these 2nd ary sales and someone in the Govt might be able to find out or even an independent prosecutor. What they are doing is illegal - it's called colussion. There are laws they have to obey too

That's all there is to it. You got it or do I have to repeat it again?

Really??

AUTHOR: Stacey - (United States)

This is a FREE phone through a government program so how do you think reporting them to the GOVERNMENT is gonna help??? Get real - you are getting a FREE phone so take it or leave it and pay for one out of your own pocket.

I know because I have helped many of my former residents in NURSING HOMES get a phone to keep in contact with their loved ones. THEY did not have access to internet services like you do.

How can this be a ripoff? The phone and service are free.

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (United States)

Looking at their website the phone and the service are free to people that can qualify for the government program. If you are looking for another type of phone, then buy whatever phone you want and pay for your service with another carrier. I don't see how you can say that this offer of a free phone and free phone service is ripping off their customers.

What are we supposed to report to the government, the FTC and our Congressmen? That you couldn't modify the terms of the deal to get a free phone? That the phone wasn't good enough for your use? Tell us what phone they offered you and which phone you want (as well as it's cost) so we can make the right decision about contacting the government.
