we too have been told by AT&T that our iphone unlimited data plan has now become limited, but yet the "unlimited" price has not come down! We have had our AT&T cellular service for over 10yrs, same number and same plan. from the very start we have always paid for unlimited data because i was afraid of going over, not because i used it so much back then but because i didn't know how to keep track of it. but now i do know, and all those years of doing nothing but checking email once a week used no where near 1GB let alone 2. i know i have over paid for many years for a service i hardly ever used! now, At&T comes out with something so amazing-along comes the iphone, no more need for a wireless laptop card (also on a unlimited plan), i can do everything on the iphone that i could do on a laptop with much better service too. so again i made sure i paid for unlimited, by now i am still not to sure of data usuage, but would rather pay extra to make sure i can do all, email, check bank balances, etc... on my iphone. Now i am starting to learn about data usuage, KB/MB/GB because along comes the iphone3G. thought i had died and gone to heaven! not only can i listen to my music, audiobooks, now i can watch movies while my husband is watching sports!

Now AT&T  threatens me that if i don't cut down my usuage, they will cut down my service! i tried to comply, do whats best and behave myself and keep and eye on usuage, even spent money on their Hotspot , yes i added yet another AT&t bill, but new service now has 5GB limit. thats ok, for the first 3 months of having it i  used less than 2GB on my iphone and less than 2GB on the hotspot, but the hotspot service sucks!! constant buffering, always blacking out the video and telling me to use "WiFi" even though thats what the hotspot is suppose to be! so i finally get tired of fighting with it and go back to using the "unlimited" data plan on my iphone..i hit 4GB this past month, 3 of which were used the last 2 days of my billing cycle.  I PAID FOR THE SERVICE, to use when and how i want, not when they want me too! to no suprise, AT&T sends me a  text message again with their threats of interfering with  my  PAID service.

AT&T tells me that the reason they started this is because they did not anticipate how well the iphone and others like it where going to do. that i don't believe! that was the whole concept behind the making of smart phones, if they didn't see this coming, then some CEO is not doing the work he/she is being paid for. Punish them not me!!
