After going to Auto Mart a few times and talking with the owner and asking him how his buy here/pay here plans worked. I went back there in July 2009 to buy a car and ended up purchasing a 1998 GMC Jimmy. He said we could put $600 down that day and another $250 in 2weeks. Me really needing a car and not having a lot of money...it sounded pretty good. So I test drove it, and noticed that the driver's seat did not move back or forth. when I got back to the lot I asked him if it could be fixed? (Since I am short, I could barely reach the pedels.) He sent his machanic to fix it. The machanic sprayed some dw40 on it and said it was good to go. Also we noticed that the windshield had a LARGE crack in it. I asked him if that could be fixed and he said "Not a problem, once we get the rest of the down payment I will get it fixed.) There also wasnt any AC and since I have a baby I need AC. He said no big deal just needs to be charged. *he did that* Then I went in and finalized the paper work. When we left the lot my bf had to drive the car home since the seat was still not moving.
After a few days of having the vehicle and changing the oil and filters, my boyfriend decided to look at the seat that was not moving still. He found out that the motor was missing. So when I called the owner he said he would take care of it. That day I had went to move my baby's carseat to the other side of the car to find that someone had *CUT OUT* the seatbelt, I told him about it and he said he would replace it for me too.
Then we noticed that the car was going through WAY TOO much gas, and since our AC was still not working we knew it wasnt from that. So we took it up to him to have Machanic #2 look at it. They went ahead and changed the spark plugs and wires then charged us $70 and like 5 hours of us sitting and sitting and sitting some more. To then go home and it STILL not be FIXED. and the AC STILL not working after the new machanic *charged* it again.
Now we decide to take it to the parts store and have a diagnostic test done on it, the codes read MISFIRE, O2 SENSORS were bad along with some other ones. We then changed the sensors ourself. (we couldnt afford for HIS MACHANIC to do it) and its still blowing BLACK SMOKE out the EXHUST and sucking gas.
So I called the owner this morning to tell him I was coming to make a payment and that I wanted to sit down and talk to him about this car. He told me he was going to wait for me there and when I got there an hour and half later what do you know? HE WASNT. Like always. He is never there when we try to meet with him. * I WONDER WHY THAT COULD BE???
Well the girl that works there called him on his cell and told him that I was there and wanted to talk to him about the car and he told her basically that he wasnt going to do any more work on the car and that he didnt want to talk to me about the car. So I told her that I was not going to make another payment until he talked to me about the car. Thats when she pulled me out side away from the other customers that were inside complaining about there car being broke down that they bought yesterday, and she told me to "DRIVE IT UNTIL HE COMES TO GET IT" hmmmmm....that right there should tell you something, when HIS EMPLOYEE's tell you to just drive it until he comes to get it because he doesnt want to do anything with it.
I HOPE THAT KARMA BITES HIM A NEW ONE.
