This is the email chain from blast and thier response:

Thank you for contacting Blast Fitness Customer Care Department. We acquired all Bally’s memberships as of June 1st 2012. Bally’s sent a letter notifying all members. Bally's transferred your membership into our system with an expiration date. Your former Bally’s paid in full membership is set to expire 11/15/2013. Blast sent out a renewal letter with an “option to renew” at our gold plan rate. If you would like to continue being a member with Blast Fitness after the expiration date, you would need to start a membership with one of our current Blast plans.

If you believe you are entitled to a fixed renewal rate please provide us with your original Bally’s contract that states you are entitled to renew your membership at a fixed rate without having your rate increased. Please email or fax us at 617-558-5394 a legible copy of your contract over to us to review. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns, we are happy to assist you.

Your Friends in Fitness!

This member never received a renewal letter and he expired 11/15. What can we do for him?

Subject: Membership Transfer

My name is .... and my agreement number was (Blast)  XXXXXXXXX.  I found this number today by contacting Bally's and then Blast.  I understand that Bally's sold my membership to Blast.  I am told that there is a document on file that I have signed back in June of 2012.  I never received any document or signed any document notifying me of any such transfer of membership or change in my membership contract.

Upon further investigation, I have discovered that my membership has expired with Blast and I received no notification that I had a membership with Blast or that any renewal fee was due.  I have lived at the same address and had the same phone number for some 20+ years so contacting me should not have been a problem.

The West Allis, WI facility has informed me that the membership has expired and there is nothing that they can do for me at thier level.  The Assistant Manager was very helpful and understanding.

I really feel that this situation was created by design and now I am left with nothing after a nearly 30 year relationship with Bally's.

I feel that Bally's and Blast are deceptive to say the least.
