Complaint Review: Bank of America
Bank of America is relentless in their collection of overdraft/NSF fees. They are unwilling to negotiate even a good-faith credit for a customer that has been with them 8 years.
I made a mistake and overdrew my checking but immediately recitified it by adding the amount back to the account in less than 24 hours.
I contacted customer service who refused to credit the fee. They used their "canned" responses and encouraged me to sign up for overdraft protection (yeah, ok)...
Whey they would even pay the check in the first place is beyond me. I didn't have the funds, they should have rejected the transaction but no...they want to allow this so they can collect their precious NSF fee of $35.
Further complaints up the chain resulted in no difference, I got the same canned response again from another person. It's clear BOA does not care about their customers, they only care about profits. If this is how they treat an 8 year customer with no history of NSF fees, it's a bad sign.
If you are considering opening an account with Bank of America, I would be very cautious and personally I would not recommend them to any of my friends or family. They are only in business to gouge people.
