My 12 year old daughter was scouted at a local mall about 2 years ago, but I didn't follow up until this year because the scout continued to call everytime they did a casting call in Orlando, so I said what the heck. Just like many of the reports listed on here, "my daughter was "SELECTED" out of 400 girls to attend their exclusive training". We were called the next day with these exciting results, (of course she wanted the whole family to be there and requested to be on speaker phone so my daughter could hear this). Then came the money conversation, we were honest about our financial situation due to the economic strains and my husband being recently laid off. I originally declined, then the agent offered us to have the payments in smaller amounts since I could not afford the lump amount of $2000 so we took the bait.

All seemed to be well until she recently was "SELECTED" to attend the IMTA (fashion week in LA this January). They were asking for $4000 with a payment of $900 upfront and have my account debited in two week intervals for $550 until whole amount was paid before December... Again, I went along with these agreements because I was told if she did not attend after being "SELECTED" it would be considered as negative on her placement card and would affect her "EVER" getting a job, (also told infront of my daughter).

After missing "ONE PAYMENT" this past Friday, my daughter went to class on Saturday and was told she could not particpate and no longer attend class until I made good on the payment. I was furious to see my baby in tears when I picked her up, and when I went into the school to speak to the Director Terri Thomas, she refused to even come out and face me. (How Disrespectful)

After all of this money I've spent my daughter is so embarassed about the way she was treated she no longer wants to attend or have anything to do with Barbizon. It's truly a shame how they manipulate and build pipe dreams only to "Smoke You for Money". OUCH.. THAT REALLY BURNS...
