I feel so foolish not entering "barcareers.com scam" into a search engine before I picked up the phone to call and inquire because there are 166,000 entries! The closes kept coming "of course you need to do this, you need a job!", and without having time to think or dispute what was going on I found myself authorizing a charge of $149.90 on my debit card to receive an on line bar tending course that I was supposed to be able to complete within 3 to 5 hours and then be ready to be employed. Tons of jobs were supposed to be available in my immediate area here in the Puget Sound and I had promises of desperate employers making my phone ring as soon as the next Monday. Within minutes of creating the transaction I felt uneasy so i googled the above quoted term.
Well, ... after reading the comments from so many people that barcareers.com is nothing but a scam I called back (within about an hour of ordering) to cancel the transaction. Customer service gave me a "song and dance" about it being difficult to cancel a transaction on the same day, but they would call me back when the cancellation was completed. This made me feel about as assured as the original transaction, so I next called my bank and reported possible fraud and lack of faith for them to keep their word about canceling the transaction. I have a claim number from my bank and they are tracking the situation but have been informed that if they don't voluntarily reverse the charges that it may take a couple of months to straighten this mess out.
I hope my refund comes through like they promised, but reading so many reports about people being ripped off and even charged money without authorization I sincerely have my doubts. It really sounds like this company needs someone, anyone, to say something good about them, even if it's just a prompt refund as promised.

Barcareers is an online Bartending School founded in 1999 and have had over 100,000 students to date. Once a potential Graduate places an order to enroll in Barcareers online Bartender School pays the one time enrollment fee, we ask all candidates to provide us with information that informs us that they are ready to be considered for job placement assistance. We have requirements for all graduates who have attended or attend this school. The marks issued to some students are not acceptable. The student should have demonstrated the ability to undertake all steps required once graduated. Some students fail to do so.
At Barcareers, we are passionate about helping our graduates achieve their potential. When our graduates achieve their best, so do we. We understand choosing where to launch a career is an important decision. Barcareers will support and encourage each of our student's success if they follow instructions and not all students follow the instructions.
From the beginning, our graduates are to be mentored and supported by our staff and we are at times left in the dark. We have internal channels and processes in place to provide our students with the tools and opportunities if they do the right thing.
Our student's benefit from common approaches, methods, and tools. Our Bartender Support Team is available to our students via telephone, email or fax Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm PST. Whatever the inquiry, we'll help direct to the appropriate place from where the student can obtain an answer.
Any claims of an unauthorized use of a credit card is immediately investigated and procedures are in place to insure that the application is truthful and
not fraudulent.
.All of our graduates agreed to the standard terms and conditions, as described on our web site. All of our phone calls are recorded and monitored for protection. Our enrollee's knowingly release credit card numbers to enroll in Barcareers online Bartender School.
Some of our failed to follow company protocol and procedures stated in the agreement between Barcareers and our graduates.
