When going over our bank statement a week ago I noticed a charge for $99.90 payable to Berman Investment Group.

I asked my husband about the charge, since I knew I hadn't placed an order for that amount, anywhere. He explained about ordering the Berman CD's, etc. about a month before, but was adamant about there only being a $3.95 shipping fee, and that all books & CD's were absolutely FREE.

Since we, like everyone, have a real problem with being taken advantage of I decided to see what I could find out about Mr. Berman.

I was thrilled to find this website! I had no idea the Rip-Off Report even existed, or believe me, I would have visited much sooner, concerning some other disreputable businesses I've encountered in the past.

Because of this site and the posts by other consumers I learned very quickly about the Berman Investment Group's shady practices.

I was amazed to learn what this awful company was putting consumers through, from the initial Rip-Off of the unauthorized fee of $99.90 to the many steps some were having to go through to try to get their money refunded.

We were able to get a full refund almost immediately, once we disputed the charges to our bank. But only because of the pain some of the other duped people went through, or are going through.

My husband had used his ATM Visa card, which deducts any money directly from our checking account. Because of this we feared that Berman Investment Group, which had already shown itself to be without morals, would most likely attempt to deduct random amounts from our account in the future.

My husband filled out the necessary paperwork to get a chargeback on the $99.90, and then he cancelled his card. It was a little inconvenient for him, in that he had to wait 4-5 days before he got a replacement card.

But overall, and only because of what I read right here, on the Rip-Off Report, we came out of this with only a couple of scratches. And to add insult to injury (that would be Berman Investment Group's injury!) we found out that we did not have to return any CD's or books.

Our bank account was credited $99.90 yesterday and they will not allow any charges to be made to our account by Bruce A. Berman or Berman Investment Group, should they somehow get around not having the correct credit card number.

I don't see why anyone/everyone cannot do the same as we did. Don't return those books, CD's, etc. at your own expense. Don't return them at all if you don't want. And get a chargeback to your account for the full amount Berman Investment Group fraudently took from you.

Don't forget to tell your financial institution that you will not authorize Bruce A. Berman or Berman Investment Group to EVER charge your account for any reason, whatsoever!

I feel bad that some are having to go through so much when it shouldn't be that way. Perhaps I am naive, concerning everyone getting their money back, but if we did, why can't everyone else?

I am very grateful to all that posted here, and especially to the Rip-Off Report. I know we would not have been successful, otherwise. Thank you, all. Peace.
