Our original estimate was for $1325.00 with a weight of 2500 lbs or less. I told the estimator what we had and he even said himself that it was going to only be around 1700 lbs but he'll give the estimate for 2500 lbs just to be on the safe side. We paid a deposit of $225.00 over the phone to reserve the truck and do everything on our end to get the moving process running smoothly.

We had an appointment for Monday August 8th and then received a call telling us there would not be a truck in the area so they wanted to come Sunday instead. We agreed and began packing in a frenzy to make sure we'd be ready for them. We prepaid for two hotels online for the nights of Sunday the 7th and Monday the 8th in different states for our trip down to Florida.

When the time came for the truck and the movers to arriveneither arrived. We called the driver and he told me that he wasn't going to come that day and I was furious. I asked him if there would be someone out to our house the following morning and he told me that he didn't know. I told him that if no one came the following day that we would just cancel and hire another company and he said he didn't really care what we did.

I tried to contact the office but since it was a Sunday, I could not reach anyone until the following day. When I did, they scheduled a driver for Tuesday the 9th between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and they actually didn't get there until three. I also asked Mary, the manager, about the appointment Sunday and she told me that there are no appointments, just courtesy windows of time. If the driver didn't make it in the courtesy window, it wasn't her fault.

When the driver got out of the truck, he had us sign a bunch of blank papers and then began to work. We had a very important tea set that my grandmother gave me for a wedding present and we specifically had them pack it so nothing would happen to it. When they were done, we paid an additional $1100.00 and they were on their way. We had no clue when our stuff would arrive but at least it was on the truck.

On Friday the 12th, we get a call saying we owe a balance of $388.00. We already paid the estimate of $1325.00 and we were floored that we still owed money. We called them back and they said when they weighed it, it was 400lbs heavier than the estimate. I knew there was absolutely no way. We looked back at the paperwork from the moving day and realized that one of the blank papers we signed had been filled in. The driver had us sign it and then added more weight to the load which is impossible because they hadn't even weighed it yet.

I then realized that they were committing fraud so I called Mary back and told her that there was no way we were even close to our estimated weight and that I wanted proof of the weight. Mary told me when the driver was close that we could meet him at a scale and get his weight and then go back to the scale after the unload and weigh it again. She made it sound like a huge ordeal but we told her to arrange it and she said that she would.

We still had no idea when the delivery was going to happen but we were told we'd get a call 24 hours before so we could be ready. That wasn't the case. Our stuff finally arrived on the 19th and it came at 10 p.m. I asked them if they could just make it the next morning because ten at night was a little ridiculous and the scales were closed so I would have no way to get the actual weight.

The driver told me that if we didn't get our stuff then, it would be another week until they could come back. When they got here, they just started unloading and took no inventory. When they left at close to midnight, we took a look at our stuff and noticed several crushed boxes. We began to unpack the following day and the box with the tea set was nowhere to be seen. We made several calls and all went unanswered.

We must have called at least ten to twelve times and they always tell us that they'll call us back with an answer and never once did they do that. I have no problem paying for a service that is legitimate but when a company flat out commits fraud and steals from me, they need not be paid for committing a crime. I did everything I was supposed to and they did nothing that they agreed to.

They fraudulently overcharged us and did it in the sneakiest of ways and the one thing we had them pack to ensure a safe arrivalis gone. That tea set is almost 100 years old and it can't be replaced. I'm also going to file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's office because their crimes should not go unpunished. I hope that you don't use those criminals and do the right thing and don't let them get a dime for breaking the law.

I gave them many chances to do the right thing and they did everything they could to not. Even the weight, I gave them a chance to show me what they thought was fair and they knew that they would get caught red handed so they did what they did. Don't feel bad, we paid them $400.00 cash when they dropped our stuff off which had to be paid before they would even open the truck up so if we had any problems, they were already paid in full.

I would have liked to use the credit card for the final payment but I had no other choice. That $400.00 is way more than they deserve for stealing from us, losing our irreplaceable items and breaking our dishes. That tea set was a family heirloom and now it's gone and it's probably gracing one of the employee's china cabinets as we speak. Their merchant account should be revoked because what they did is against the law. Thank you for reading.

SCAM

AUTHOR: Antiscamprofessional - (U.S.A.)

I wish I had read these negative reviews sooner. This move has been an absolute nightmare, and it continues to this day. Brian Slater, the sales person I spoke with was very pleasant. I didn't know he was also a liar. He said that everything would be included in my quote (less the weight of my stuff if it was heavier than what I thought). Turns out if you sneeze the wrong way, they charge extra. This costing me hundreds (and counting) more than what they originally said...but that's the least of my complaints. After 11 business days, I finally received a call from the movers saying they were going to be delivering my stuff (it was supposed to be delivered in 5-7 business days). No call, no show. I had re-arranged my day just so I would be available for the delivery. SO UPSET. I spoke to about 7 people who all did not take any responsibility. Furthermore, they wanted to charge me an additional $230 for a shuttle fee because their 18 wheeler semi couldnt fit around the corner. All in all, my original quote was $1200. By the end of it, I'm paying $1700, and God knows what else they will choose to charge me for next since my stuff is STILL not here. Today makes the 17th day. Please, do not put yourself through this nightmare if you can help it. Their staff are liars, theives, and they DO NOT CARE about their customers.
