i have known for awile now that bidz uses shill bidders .they even took it a step further by allowing you a so called second chance offer.this occurs when you give up and the shill bidder is the winning bidder.if you don't take the second chance offer they do not give you a second chance offer again.today2/3/08 i saw something even better their system wasn't working quite right and when i bid the shill bidders name was automatically going up with the next bid amount but i checked my bid made it in i copied and pasted this so i would have proof. someone needs to stop them i wish someone would tell me how to get the law involved

you say you don't have shill bidders and that the second chance offers are not a fixed price so why am i not seeing you offer a second chance on a high value item that ends low that you have a large quantity in?it's because you do use shill bidders and you do have set prices!!!!!bidz.com should be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!!!!!!

Shill Bidding

AUTHOR: Customer Service Team - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 26, 2008

We would once again we would like to thank you for submitting your concerns.

As it was previously mentioned, Bidz.com does not practice or tolerate shill bidding.
We would also like to clarify some of the information that has been misinterpreted.

A Second chance offers is when our system places the item that a customer was bidding on but did not win. It is an offer to our customers. It's offered to a customer at their bidding price. This does not mean that we do this because the price we paid was not met. We sometimes loose on items but just how we can loose we can profit from some, keep in mind that they are open auctions, the items are sold to the highest bidder. But if we have a large quantity in stock some items may be offered to other customers.

Thank you for your time,

I would like to take the time and thank you all for your questions, comments and concerns.

It is very unfortunate to hear that you (Lilloric) have had a bad experience with our company. We would like to apologize for any inconveniences we may have caused you. As it was clearly stated in the above statement Bidz does not tolerate any shill bidding. We understand that you are not the only one experiencing some difficulty with our company, we are not perfect, just like any other company we have discrepancies that we try our best to rectify. We would like to clarify one of the statements that has been misrepresented. Second Chance Offers are items that are offered to those customers that were unable to win the auction. It was never stated that they are re-listed items. They are items that we have more available of.They are available to purchase to those who are interested. If you would like to purchase them, you may, if you don't, the item will just go back to auction with no penalty to you. The second chance offers are given at the bidding price, whether we brake even or make profit. Remember customers have a choice in accepting Second Chance Offers.

Thank you

they don't use shill bidders?

AUTHOR: Lilloric - (U.S.A.)

the comment from bidz is enough to make me laugh. they say the second chance offers are relists? not in 1 hours time they aren't.or extra items, that's the same as saying you have a set price and the set price or reserve price was met. scammers you should be shut down.

I've had no problems with Bidz.com

AUTHOR: Katie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2008

I've personally bought several items from Bidz.com and have had no problem at all. I even bought a necklace that was advertised as worth over $19,000. I took it to a reputable jeweler in my town, had it appraised, and it appraised for over $21,000. Seems to me that the people who are upset and angry failed to read and inform themselves of the policies of Bidz.com. I'm a happy and informed customer (but I take the time to understand the policies of companies before I do business with them.) These problems probably would not occur if people took the time to educate themselves before making a purchase.

No Shill Bidding

AUTHOR: Customer Service Team - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2008

Bidz.com would like to thank all of its customers.

Bidz does not practice shill bidding and does not tolerate, more important it is illegal. If we see any activity such as shill bidding, we deactivate the users account so that they are not able to do that again. We try to accommodate all of our consumers in many ways, one being what we call a second chance offer. A second chance offer is offered when the auction closes, Second Chance Offer items will automatically be placed into your account. This is done automatically, if we have more of the same items in inventory. If you choose not to purchase these items you can contact customer service for removal or allow them to re-list without penalty to you.

Our system has been modified. The bidding is not like it was before. Every bid is now considered an autobid. The Autobid system will bid on your behalf without going over your maximum. You will also notice the name of each leading auction bidder right from the showcase view.

Thank you for your valued time and patience
