On Feburary 23, 2006 at approx 9pm my husband and daughter picked up our new 8.5 wk Great Dane puppy at Logan airport in Boston MA. We purchased a puppy from a Bill and Kristy Bartmann having used the site puppyfind.com. He had spoken to Mr. Bartmann a few times asking what we thought were all the appropriate questions concerning "Buster". We were told what a happy healthy puppy he was...that he loved kids and loved to snuggle. We were assured he was registered and vaccinated and healthy etc. We were shocked at the condition of the puppy we met at the airport. By the never next morning we knew "Buster" needed medical attention. Hes been at the vets ever since. Costing us approximately $220 daily to hopefully make him well. As of today the vet says MAYBE by the end of the week!!! Im not sure how we will pay this bill. But we feel responsiblity for this animal...UNLIKE BILL OR KRISTY BARTMANN.

Misrepresentation

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 07, 2006

Have WE been scammed too?
We have purchased a puppy online.

Drove 500 mi to pick up puppy and did not receive the paperwork, registration AKC, NKC contract, written 2 yr guarantee or vet check paperwork with puppies history, as promised and advertised on PuppyFind.com.

Kristy and Bill Bartmann's stories do not add up and they just happened to forget the paperwork when meeting. I did my research and see we may have been taken advantage of, as others have been also.

I confronted Mr Bill Bartmann that he had 12 hours to fax or produce the paperwork. He claimed I was rude and we received all of the paperwork, which tells me there is no paperwork.

I see today all his 24 dogs advertised are no longer showing on the web site.

Beware!

Ripped-Off by Bill and Kristy Bartmann

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 27, 2006

We also bought a Great Dane puppy from the Bartmanns on Feb. 20, 2006. "Gabby" came down with Parvo less than 4 days after receiving her. Please see our full report by searching "Bill" Bartmann and see our first report by searching Bill and Kristy Bartman and go under Mary in Alexandria. We would like information on contacting the owners of Gabby's littermates and information on finding out about Gabby's true breeder so that we can update her on Gabby's health. If anyone has suggestions on how to contact these people, please respond to this e-mail.

Update on Buster and BILL BARTMANN

AUTHOR: Sheila - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 21, 2006

As of 4/17/06 I have been contacted by WMUR of Manchester NH and also a station in Tulsa OK who are both interested in hearing this story. "Buster" is now approx 14 wks old, weighs approx 50 lbs, and is doing very well. We are still paying the bill for his week long stay in isolation at the vets however. I told Mr Bartmann today when I last spoke with him that we agreed to pay $820 for the puppy including shipping.

We want him to reimburse us the $1640 we paid to keep this poor creature alive. Its not like we ever really had a choice once this living, breathing creature was with us. Its not like we could have just shipped this puppy back, he would have died. If the airlines were paying attention to their own rules perhaps this puppy never would have been allowed to be shipped. Needless to say, our conversation ended with Mr. Bill Bartmann not agreeing to pay the vet bill.
It also came to our attention that the picture we fell in love with thinking it was Buster was also being used to sell a female puppy!! How unfair to make people think the pictures are the actual pet you receive.!!!

This man continues to list puppies but changes the contact people names. In the last month the name has changed a few times but the phone number remains the same.

I amend this post yet again as of 4/21/06. I got a phone call from a breeder in Oklahoma who has been trying to assist me with information etc. She researched the name that was on the ACA paperwork we just recently received. Mr Bartmann portrayed himself as the breeder but in fact another person was. I have been in contact with this person as well and she tells me Mr. Bartmann bought 6 puppies from her under false pretenses ( he told her he ran a camp for underprivledged foster children) and so she sold these puppies to him at great discount. This man is a theif, a liar and a FRAUD!!!!
Sincerely,

Peter and Sheila

Still waiting for a response of some kind from the BARTMANNS

AUTHOR: Sheila - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 15, 2006

Well, Im happy to say our puppy Buster is doing much better. We have to credit our vets for that as well..our pocketbook however is not all that happy as we have spent upwards of $2,500 buying the puppy, shipping the puppy, and then hospitalizing the puppy for a week. In this small space of time however I have come in contact with 2 other people who also bought sick puppies from the Bartmanns. One of those puppies had to be put to sleep. What this man is doing is wrong!!! We continue to share our story...continue to wait for the elusive akc papers and vaccine records we were promised, something tells me we will wait forever!!

Another pup on the internet

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Sadly, I have seen this story so many times. I certainly understand seeing a picture of an adorable little (or not so little) puppy and wanting to bring it home. BUT, you should never buy a puppy unless you can go to the puppy's current home and see where it is coming from and if not both parents, at least the mother. I myself have found a puppy on puppyfind.com that I am so looking forward to bringing home but I would never buy her if it weren't for the fact that the breeder was more than willing for me to go to her to get the pup. PLEASE, don't ever buy a dog or cat from anyone that won't let you see where the animal comes from and what the parents are like. Even if it means making a long drive and possibly staying overnight somewhere, knowing where your newest family member comes from will give you peace of mind. Furthermore, I believe (only MY opinion) that you should never put a puppy on a plane and ship them. That poor little dog is taken away from the only home and family it knows and stuck in a crate on an airplane for how many hours? No way, not any pet that I love. When I go somewhere I either drive so my dogs can go with me or they stay with a close trusted friend who stays in my home. I know it can be much harder to find the dog you want in an area close to you but if you are patient and search enough you will find the perfect new member of your family somewhere that you can go to get him/her and see where they come from. Please consider this before getting a puppy or kitten.

Best of luck to you with your new baby and I hope and pray that he will recover soon and bring you years of happiness and love.
