We started an asphalt repair company about 4 years ago and we were manipulated by a man from Blue Book Construction named Robin Mates.   He promised that we would be able to easily find work throuch construction companies looking for asphalt paving, patching, striping and sealcoating.  Everything sounded great.  What we realized shortly after is that Bluebook manipulates the key words, for instance 'Asphalt Sealcoating' falls under 'Pavement Treatments' which also includes Oil tacking before asphalt paving, pressure washing, and large state jobs and prevailing wage jobs that we had no interst in at the time, and he said he would omit them.  Very wrong.  All we received were large paving jobs, and bridge jobs.  We do not do concrete, we do not maintain bridges, we do not pave highways, we do not.  The categories that we had choses were manipulated to fill their own numbers and quotas so they can present these fantastic "manipulated" numbers to the next customer/victim.

We had a very hard year last year.  And didn't have the funds to continue paying for bluebook, which we received 0 calls from! and 0 jobs from!  We tried to cancel it prematurally and they threated to take us to court saying we would 'Lose Everything'.  Instead, my foolish father signed a 2 year renewel which allowed us to prolong the payments for 2 months, but signed us up for another 2 years!  My father is the most trustworthy person in the world, but why would any salesman take advantage of a company so small that is struggling, which something that never was meant to work for our company structure in the first place!  Here is what another person posted.  Exactly what is going on with them. Oh by the way, when we would call these Contractors the had no idea what we were even talking about most of the time in the first place.

1) They tell you all the leads sent to you will be for just what service or product you provide, wow! Only after paying, do you find that they have predefined catagories, and if you dont fit into one of them.....oh well.

2) Their amazing software will do word search through all the RFQ documtents to find just what services, products you provide. However, when you go to the specs or plans to actuall pull the take off information, their Software, which is suppose to find specific words to save having to go through all pages of specs and plans, does find those words....even though you are looking right at that word on a plan page, and type in that word to find, it comes back, it is not found anywhere in the document. Really??

3) On top of paying thousands for this service, you now are spending, wastes thousands in wages for staff to weed through all the bogus "leads" you get, or their search program tells you that this RFQ needs your product or service.

4) Waste of time. Frankly this does nothing more than provide a list of area General contractors (GC). You can get this for FREE online from many sources.

5) Most GC's are so busy sending quotes, they shot gun RFQ's to anyone on the Bluebook lists. They just to not have the time to see if what you have, is really what they need, and this is what Bluebook was suppose to do for them, and fails miserably.

Im thinking about breaking the contract and letting them sue me.  I could potentially put $8000 over 2 years into lawyer fees for mis-representing their product and threatening to sue us in a high pressure situation.
