We have not even had our pool 2 years and have had numerous repairs; none of which were covered by warranty. When we have called for repairs, that company advises this is normal for Blue Haven customers. Now, our decking is cracking severely. It is pulling away from the coping and the pool itself and thus has caused a retaining wall to also begin cracking. The City Inspector just looked at it and said this is not a normal result from "settlement" as Blue Haven contends.

When we first called Blue Haven about the cracking, they immediately stated the "Sun-dek" is the only part of the decking warrantied. The "Sun-dek" is the first 1/8" of the decking. We contended that too was cracked, although the cracks go much deeper. They were supposed to call us. Today we called to find out when someone was going to respond only to be told "Oh, the superintendent has already been there and you don't even have "Sun-dek" so what you have isn't covered at all". That's funny as we specifically had wanted the "Sun-dek" as Blue Haven claims it is "cooler than concrete". We were told we paid MORE for what we have and it does NOT cool. I had wondered why it wasn't "cooler than concrete" but that was the least of our concerns with all the other pool repairs.

We learned the hard way and also wish we had researched better. I can't tell you the number of Blue Haven pool owners we have since heard horror stories from. Sad thing is you can't just exchange their pool. We are now looking at legal action but that can't replace the poor workmanship that has already occurred. We just need them to at least attempt to correct the problems now occuring. When you call, no one is ever available but the receptionist who doesn't know anything about YOUR pool. When we were looking to buy, there were always numerous people available to answer your questions. Hmmmm

I too have had issues with Blue Haven Pools.....they do not follow through. They don't care after they have your money!

I signed my pool paperwork on 9/20/08 and construction began in Late October. Construction finished in December. After construction our yard overflowed into the pool in December, January, March, April and May. Blue Haven states it is not their problem, however they are the "pool experts" (having built so many and all), but only created ongoing problems for us. They will not return phone calls, they don't do what they say they will, they down't show up when they are scheduled. Basically once they have your money, they don't really care. If something happens while in construction.....they are right there and take care of it, but once they have all of your money, they don't care.

I've called every Blue Haven Office, construction office, service line that I could find (as well as Mark Dana the GM) with very little response. I've gotten more when my attorney has contacted them. I guess it's time to sue them for the cost of the pool!

Don't be misled, they have laid off most of their staff (obviously because they are horrible to deal with and don't take care of their customers).

Over 200,000 pools in the ground

AUTHOR: Warren - (U.S.A.)

Over 50 years in business without any mergers or bankruptcies. Our company is debt free and addresses any problems with due dilligence.I suggest you find a 5 year old yellow pages and start calling pool companies. You will find that 80% to 95% are no longer in business.

Blue Haven currently builds about 6000 pools a year and warranties pools built built back in the 1950s.If you have a problem with your pool...I suggest you take it to court or your local BBB.Do not pollute the internet with this "Hogwash"!

Blue haven did not become the #1 pool Builder in America by building the so called "tragedies" you describe.

No pool builder is perfect by any means...so take these planted complaints with a grain of salt.

Subject: BLUE HAVEN POOLS/ADVANTAGE POOLS & SPAS-FLORIDA

I just found a report I had not seen concerning Advantage Pools & Spas. Two agreements exist in writing and are signed for this company as Advantage Pools & Spas, Inc.& Blue Haven Pools & Spas of Central Florida-- which WAS located at 9833 East Colonial Dr. -Unioin Park, FL 32817 with the dba Blue Haven Pools & Spas, Inc. at P.O. Box 126878 San Diego, CA 92112 (downtown post office)--mailing address at 636 Broadway, Ste 310 in San Diego, CA. 92101 (phone: 619/233-3522).

This is the address to Blue Haven's corporate office. The agreements refer to Orlando, FL with a Gene Latham and Michael
Fratvzik as Pres & VP. Both franchise agreements are with the BH entitiy called P&A Holdings, Inc. Prior to these names, agreements were signed: 1st-Alvin Eisman-Pres. 2nd-Felix Zamel-Pres.

Officers were previously Billy D. Eisman (who lives in SD & doesn't work with pool company), Ron Zaberer (SD employee as CFO) and Teri Tuttle who operates the Ontario, CA office as a
General Manager.

Other reports included the name Chris Waters--also resident and employee in SD, CA. The FEI # was 59-3372814. This entity is also known as Blue Haven Pools Central, Inc.--but no one will find this link, the link to P&A Holdings, Inc. or Z&E Management, Inc.--operating entity of Blue Haven Pools.

I failed to mention the pool furniture Blue Haven advertises! They offer that with the purchase of a pool, you will receive pool furniture which is valued at $1200. This pool furniture is PLASTIC. They same type of furniture you can buy at the discount stores for appx $4 per chair and less than $20 per chaise. The umbrella was nice until a windstorm snapped the wood in two. You could buy this entire set of furniture at a discount store for less than $100! I don't know how they get away with the $1200 quote! That's a joke! It's the same quality as their pools!
