Box Office Ticket Sales represents itself as the website to get theater tickets for Hershey Theater in Hershey, PA, though, in fact, it is not.  However, it is one of the first websites to appear when one Googles the actual theater and is misleading.

In attempting to obtain tickets, I phoned the 800 number.  The cost was way out of line, but because the tickets were a gift, I was resigned.  When added costs were datailed the person on the line suggested that had I actually called the theater, the additional cost would have been 23% rather than 18%.  I was later able to get this 18 refunded because it was absolute deceit on the sales person's part.

The tickets were a gift and so we discussed possible seating and I was told tickers were available only on the side, though this was the first day of sale for this particular production.  I specifically said to the sales person that I absolutely did not want seats in the first few rows because one would not be able to see the stage.  When my tickets arrived, they were in the first row on the side.  I  believe this was payback for my complaint about the added cost (see above paragraph).   I tried to change them, but to not avail, and so filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office in Pennsylvania.  The AG's office contacted Box Office Sales, but also to no avail.

The performance of War Horse was this week (Dec. 11, 2013)   The seats were so terrible that my daughter and her husband could not see the stage and, in addition, they were seated next to a bank of audio equipment that drowned out the performance. 

This was a sad ending to something that was meant to be special.  I paid $139 each for the tickets, plus $14 postage and handling for each.  I have since found that the most expensive seats at the Hershey Theater are $84.
