I went to Brown and Brown to see about buying a new car to try and establish credit. I told the saleman (Vincent Linzy) what was going on and that he said that he could help me. But he said that we need to run a credit report, well we did and they said that it would be no problem. he asked how much i would be able to put down and i told him and then he took it to finance and they approved my down payment and the monthly payment. After being there for hours i was finally able to sign the papers and leave.

I called Vincent regarding a matter with the down payment, he then informed me that i would need a co-signer,so i had my dad from wyoming call and give him the info that was needed to be the co-signer. Finance told him that they would fed ex him the papers to sign. Needless to say the papers never got to him. I even received a phone call and a letter in September thanking me for the purchase and that if we new anyone looking for a car to send them to him.

Well in September i used the GM emergeny, The lady that was helping me on the phone asked me for my vin number, i gave it to her, she then informed me that it was wrong so i got out the contract and the rest of the paper work that goes to the car and needless to say every piece of paper had the wrong vin number. So i called Brown and Brown and made them aware that the vin numbers were wrong, they said that i would need to come down and sign the papers again. Well on 10-4-2004 the temp plates that were given to the car when i bought it had expired, so i called the dealer and i spoke to lindsey in title depart. and she had informed me to go to the d.m.v and get a new temp for 90 days. and tha tshe would remburse me for the cost of the temp.

Well my fiance had heard on the radio of a dealer helping people with special credit. Well i went there and talked to somebody and they said that they would be able to help, but when they ran the credit report there was an alert on it,so the dealer that was helping me called Brown and Brown and told them that i was there and that i was trying to purchase a car from them. SO after test driving a car, i went into the lobby and a man approched me and said that he need to talk to me outside, so we went outside and he had told me that he was here to repo the car, i was shocked because Brown and Brown had never called me at home or on my cell to tell me that i was not able to financed and that i need to bring the car back, instead the reported as a repo. The man that was speaking with me said that they were about ready to report it stolen within the next few days. I couldn't believe what i was hearing and how embarresed i was.

The funny thing is that i was just at the dealership on 10-4-04 and signed all new papers for that car, with the correct vin numbers on the contract. The Finance dept never told me nothing about bringing the car back.If i was never able to get approved why didn't they just call and say so, i would have taken there car back no big deal. The way the handled this is very unprofessional.

i can't believe that there is no law that protects consumers from auto dealers doing these kind of things to people. But there are laws that protect the auto dealers. Keep in mind that i had the car for 2 months already and not one person could be honest with me down there. I will Never refer anybody down to Brown and Brown Chevrolet. How would they like it if they were treated the way that they treated me!!!

many car dealers like to play games with consumers

AUTHOR: Stick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 06, 2004

Jeff many car dealers like to play games with consumers. Most of the time they let car buyers "THINK" they are approved and let them drive the car home. Then they let you drive the car for a good while so you have time to let your friends, family and coworkers see that you bought a new car.

Then you get that nasty deceptive phone call from their F&I people telling you that you need to come back to the dealership and "Sign some extra documents" to finish the car deal. Once you get there you get the fat nasty surprise.

Many car dealers jerk car Buyer's around like this and no body in our government will do a d**n thing. I have only found ONE AG's office that will kick the a*s of a deceptive car dealer. That's right, I said ONLY FOUND ONE so far!

At the bottom of this posting you can read what he does. Trust me I wish Terry Gadded would post on his web site what he has done to car dealers. I would like to read it.

Jeff go contact Terry Goddard's office and let him read your Rip Off Report. Better yet, Print off a good copy of your report and fax it to the below fax number.

Terry Goddard
Office of the Attorney General
Department of Law
1275 West Washington Street
Phoenix, AZ 85007
Phone: 602-542-5025
Fax: 602-542-4085

Email them a direct link to your Rip Off Report. Terry if you read this Arizona car buyers need you to look into the deceptive actions of car dealers in this state. Jeff do you still have all of the papers that you signed when you bought your car? If you do contact the Editor here at this site I want copies to photo and post on this report.

Email the Attorney General's Office please. Tell them to read your Rip Off Report. Email them at: ag.inquiries@azag.gov and also at webmaster@azag.gov

By the way Jeff what was the radio station that you heard the advertisement on? Post the radio station's contact info. maybe their sales department needs to read your Rip Off report.

At thia time I feel we consumers only have one AG that has a big set of balls to go after auto dealer deception. Shame he is not in all states. Go look how he kicks a*s.

Mr Eliot Spitzer you can call me anytime if you need some extra help when you go after an auto dealer for deception!

My hat is off to you. Maybe one day I can post my thoughts on other AG's in this country. Go to these URL's below and read on the New York's AG's office work.

Jeff read some of these below. I feel they are informative reading!

My hat is Off to Eliot Spitzer is a man that all consumers in New York should thank. He has the balls to spank car dealers that are reported to be playing deceptive car buying games. It is a shame I can't say the same about other AG's. Maybe one day I can chat about other AGs.
