Camera Center Rip Off Merchants Orlando Florida

When I had my recent holiday in Orlando Florida that we had planned for 18 months I decided to buy a Digital SLR camera. What a big mistake I have made. The staff where friendly enough to start with but at least six of them in the shop. They tried with fairly forceful tactics to get me to buy the shop! I originally decided that I wanted a Nikon camera but was quickly persuded that the Canon Rebel XTI was a far superior camera. This is when the problem started well you are on holiday in a good mood and the salesman told me that all prices where better than the UK price WRONG!!!

They quoted me $799 for the camera and then $2400 for the addition zoom lenses that they stated was brand new on the market and top of the range. It was infact a budget zoom lenses that retails in the UK for 280. They included in the sale the Camera body, Canon 18-55 lenses, Sigma 28-200mmm lens, camera bag and a 4Gb Compact Flash card for what I was told was a fantastic offer for $2500. In reality I could have purchased the same equipment in the UK for 950.

Please be aware and don't fall into the same trap as me and hand over cash without thinking about it first. Do your checks before you go if you are planning to purchase expensive items. A good deal is not always a good deal think before you buy! America is a long way away to try and get money back when you have blatantly been ripped off!

The other thing is that they refused to give me the box and the camera and equipment was placed in a black plastic bag. They stated that I would not be able to get it home to the UK in the box. The atmosphere in the shop was hard sell with 6 staff sat around intimidatingly!

Will I go back to the Land of the Free Yes
Will I go back to Camera Center or any other Outlet NO CHANCE!
