I had repair work done on my plumbing. I couldn't afford to pay for it upfront so they offered me financing through CapitolOne. I refused it at first because of their reputation, but American Express refused to let me  put the price on extended payment all of a sudden and my back turned down my request for a loan. I put part of the payment on my credit card and made arrangements to pay. The interest was suppose to be zero if you finished paying off the loan in one year. First of all, they refused to send me any statements. I couldn't get anyone on the phone to help me and my letter for statements were ignored. But everytime I paid them I got a letter stating I would be receiving statements shortly. After I reported them to the Comptroller of Currency, I got letters saying I would receive a statement in February. My sister gave me a check of $1,000 to help me pay the loan off. I sent it to them by postal with certifications required so someone would sign for it.

After that I paid them off as much as I could. As I was writing my last check, I checked my bank account and found out I'd overpaid them. I stopped the last check and wrote them. I got a letter saying my loan was paid off but the payments were wrong. One of them was missing. I sent verification and asked for my money back. Instead, they stole money out of my checking account and started sending me statements saying I owed them $71 a month. I've contacted the state attorney general, the FTC and the Comptroller of Currency and have had no positive results. The web address I was given they ignore. I want my money back and want to clear this up. I saw somewhere on the ripoff report a hidden department called the adjustment department that you have to contact, but I lost the person's name and the address of the department. Please help. If you were the one who found the adjustment department, please let me know that address. I need to get this straightend out.
