-he online catalogs of Carol Wright Gifts and Dr. Leonard's Health Solutions have been fraudulently charging NJ sales tax to residents of NJ on exempt items specifically clothing.

The State of NJ Department of the Treasury - Division of Taxation defines in  N.J.S.A 54:32B-8.4 (A), (B) & (C) effective 10-01-05  all exemptions for clothing under the stremlined sale & use tax law (P.I. 2005, c.126).

On two separate ordering occassions I was erronously charged sales tax on clothing.  Upon questioning these charges via telephone converstions with their overseas customer service department  I found that this company systematiclly  charges sales tax on some clothing items which are exempt  from sales tax.  This company is based in Edison NJ and is well aware of the exemption of charging sales tax on apparell.   In essence if this company fraudulently charges sales tax at a rate of $ 1.00  to 100,000 online orders to residents of NJ over a year they are gleaming $ 100.000 in profit.  They have indicated to me that they are right to charge sales tax even in the light of evidence I provided for them from the State of NJ website. 

If anyone that lives in NJ and who has had sales tax charged on clothing items  by these companies please report them to NJ Taxation Customer Service Department at 609-292-6400.

Someone,either this company or the State of NJ is profitting illegally from comsumers.
