CDG Management ripoff Said they were State Troopers Collecting money for the Families of dead Troopers ripoff Sebring Florida

Look you bleeding hearts, do you realize that the average police officer salaries in small towns qualify them for food stamps? Hell, they need help! We all know that the FOP of the world is a rip off but at least it is a back door to higher taxes which should be paid by those who CAN afford it

I am a former Employee of CDG, the company you are complaining about.

I have a few suggestions for you:
A) Never give out money to anyone who calls you. Always contact the charity directly by phone (call them), e-mail, or letter.
B) Always ask what percentage of the donation makes it to the charity (CDG fundraising agreements are generally for 15-20% though sometimes as low as 10%)
C) It is illegal to claim to be an officer. If the employee had directly claimed to be an officer you should report the call to the FCC.


In the defense of CDG, however;
D) The caller is, however, permitted (and in reality encouraged) to SOUND like an officer as much as he is able short of stating that he is one or not stating that he is an employee of CDG before he gives any info about the charity not directly requested by the caller.
E) CDG is not actually a scam; their services are requested by the charities that they are calling for.
F) CDG was chosen to represent these charities in spite of the small % that makes it to the charity because they are absurdly effective at what they do. Net returns (amount going to the charities) can average hundreds of dollars per hour in a single call center. At 16hrs a day, 7 days a week, and dozens of call centers, that amount adds up quickly.

Something like 1% or 2% might get to troopers. So, out of the $100,000 they collect maybe a $1000 might, might be donated. When they call me at my store, I tell them I have local police officers that work for me here at the store and would they like to speak with one of them. I hear a No Thank You and a loud click.

That is exactly why I hang up on anyone that calls and gives me a sob story about needing money for this, that and the other! Rule of thumb: NEVER GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU ARE CALLING THEM. Be glad it wasn't more than $20.
