This company is the most dishonest company anyone can work for or purchase from. I know they make a ton of money for Verizon, so they probably do not care. Verizon is a great company so but directly from them online or at a corporate store. They owe me 3000 dollars for my last commision check, based on deactivations I have not seen in writing, and I am only receiving 500 dollars. They 1099 every employee, actually they are called contractors, so they do not have to pay taxes. I just wish there was something I could do about, but they have to many lawyers. Also I was let go without a phone call, face to face discussion or even an email.

I am not The original poster on this but, I do have a lot of insight on this company as a former employee.

First the reason They make you incorporate is to remove all liability from the company to you. The idea that this somehow makes them their own boss and allows them to sell anywhere is ridiculous. In sales especially straight commissioned sales you are always selling not just when you are in the store but at any opportunity; no individual has to be incorporated in order to do this. Many straight commisioned positions exist without requiring incorporation, nor does it allow the company to pay the highest commisions, the same commisions were paid before they required incorporation.

You may love cellular sales, but trust me when I say unless you are an actual partner (part owner) you mean didly sqaut to these people. I spoke to another rep recently who told me that he made 3,700.00 which was a little less than his average got a call from the company partner stating that this was atrocious and he would not be with the company any longer  if he doesn't do any better. After witnessing someone spend their datascape cash and given the opportunity to make it up with a bad check while still working for the comany even after the check bounced; and another who stole other employees cash( it was not my cash that was stolen, but it still made me angry that it happenned and everyone knew who did it)  and were still employed, but God Forbid Youyr sales dipped for a month your no longer making us as rich as we'd like.

WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE A POSITION ANYMORE?

It concerns me as a dedicated business owner within the Cellular Sales organization that someone without a dealer code or a solvent business would have the audacity to make such erroneous claims about a company that has managed to create opportunity for over 17 years of history without a lay-off or downsizing. Since the inception of Verizon Wireless in the late nineties, Cellular Sales has provided more sales annually for Verizon than any other company in existence. Due to the scrutiny bestowed by federally funded government departments such as the SEC and FCC on the wireless industry, I find it hard to believe that Cellular Sales would be able to represent Verizon as its first and largest privately held national retailer if the claims held against it by individuals such as yourself, for whom this business model obviously was not the right fit, were true.

From the first day of your time with Cellular Sales, whether explained to you in your initial interview or not, I would be amiss to believe with any credibility that you had no idea or knowledge of the holds that are placed on the final checks to cover the cost of deactivations by your clients who, due to your absence, would not be able to receive the direct client:account executive support on which we pride ourselves as a company and therefore returned their devices within the first 180 days of their signed contract with Verizon Wireless.

We do not have contactors as you have implied when you commented, "They 1099 every employee, actually they are called contractors, so they do not have to pay taxes." Actually, if you were a legitimate representative of Cellular Sales, you were a business owner with Articles of Incorporation and an LLC, S-Corp, or C-Corp within whichever state you operated inside of and therefore had the benefit of business ownership without the risk of having to pay for the enormous costs of starting your own business within the US economy, not to mention actually being successful at it. The contracting of businesses is a mutually beneficial situation that allows Cellular Sales to pay the highest documented commissions per activation in the wireless industry, while its professionals, due the fact that they own their own company, have the ability to extend their business footprint and sell to anyone, consumer or business, anywhere in the United States, at any time and price they need. This flexibility to take true ownership of your own destiny has not been replicated with such respect from the publically-held company for whom it represents anywhere within the communications or many other industries.

I guess in closing, it is unfortunate that the opportunity did not work out for you as it has for so many around the United States for nearly 2 decades. But if you were let go without a phone call, an email, or a face to face.....how did you know? Did you not hit your quota? Were you spending Datascape? Did you fail to show up on time? The amount of money it costs the company to get someone up and going with training and the provisions of everything they need from a material assets perspective automatically places the need for retention on anyone who is following the guidelines set forth by any company with the reach and effectiveness in service delivery of someone like Cellular Sales. Hopefully you have found a company that best suits what you are comfortable with in regards to autonomy and profit generation.
