Charter One Bank HUGE NSF fees charged for overdraft that wasn't my fault! Chicago Heights Illinois

My bank, First National, was bought out by Charter One almost one year ago. I decided to give them a try very reluctantly.

I made a large purchase which was supposed to be charged to my account after the merchandise was delivered to me. The company charged me before delivery and it caused an overdraft on my account.

In just 3 days I incurred $ 483.00 in NSF fees !!
The company was contacted and I cancelled my order before delivery. At this point I was at a negative $1000.00 in my account. Had the purchase gone through my account when it was supposed to, I would have been fine on my balance.

When I contacted the bank to advise them of my dilema, I was told that only a supervisor was allowed to take the NSF fees off my account and that it was very rare. I was apologized to in advance by the employee if it wouldn't be taken care of by the supervisor. I haven't heard anything back from the bank and the charges are still on my account.

These charges are now making other preauthorized debits bounce and put me back at a negative balance!

Needless to say, I will be closing my account soon and making sure everyone knows about Charter One's tactics!
