For 2 months now Ive been trying to get Chase off of my credit report. They have been in no way helpful. They are coming up on my credit report and wont send me a verification of mortgage. My mom has an account through them and its showing up as mine. Im trying to get a refinance on my home and this has been putting that on hold. Ive gone through the credit bureau and they did an investigation and said yes that it is mine. So I had to dispute it again. I could go on with my business if Chase would just send me a letter but NO. I did nothing and signed nothing to have this on my credit report yet I have to jump through hoops and wait days to get it off. When I call Chase they dont find anything under my name or my S. S.#. And still its on my credit report. Its been unbelievably fustrating.

Doesn't make sense ....

On one hand, you want Chase to provide you with a "verification of mortgage," but then on the other hand you want them to be "removed from your credit report."

Asking for a verification of mortgage implies that you have a mortgage from them, in which case you cannot have them "removed" from your credit report.

Assuming that you're not trying to fabricate some scam to better your rate when you refi, what exactly are you after?

Easy to resolve!

Crystal, this is not tough to resolve. I am experienced mortgage broker in California and this type problem is not uncommon.

First, get a copy of the disputed mortgage note from your mother. Also, get the most recent mortgage statement from the same mortgage.

If you are working with a broker on getting your own home refinanced, a competent broker-google for mortgage group direct in corona, ca can get this resolved in about a week. The broker can order a credit supplement from his credit report supplier or the lender he is going to use along with the documents I told you to get above and this goes away very quickly.

If part of the problem is that your mother's mortgage has some negative experience on it that is hurting your credit scores, then the broker must do a "Rapid Rescore" to remove the mortgage and then re-pull the FICOs. This might take 2 weeks, but still not a big deal.

We do this probably 2-3 times a month. If your broker doesn't know how to resolve this issue, get a new broker. Nothing tough here! Good Luck!
