Reliable van lines sales rep Dan constantly reassured me that packing was to be included in estimate. In addition we have this on our contract. I detailed everything, up to the boxes to facilitate my move from Chicago to South Carolina. On the morning of the move a rented truck showed up and there was a cardboard sign falling off the side of the door that was held on with duct tape that read Chicago Moving Systems.  We were told that the movers wanted more money to pack and we would have to pay additional. We refused, and quickly called Reliable van lines who refused to take our calls. After waiting and trying to call for 5 hours (we have copies of phone logs) we were forced to cancel and find alternative movers which we did. This was probably the best thing we did because based upon what I've now read it looks like Chicago Moving Systems would have extorted money from both ends.

I might add that I contacted the BBB and was informed that Chicago Moving Systems is not a member and they haven't even heard of Reliable Van Lines. The BBB should be cited for this infraction since the public depends on them for some guidance.

American Express gave me a refund from their goodwill fund.  However I want to get the word out there that these are some crafty scammers who obviously have much practice in their trade of taking advantage of unsuspecting innocent hard working people.
