Ciplex.com is a middle man SCAM!

Ciplex will lead you in with their luxorious portfolio, over price your web design, and then out source your entire project to freelancer's out of the country. The freelancer's had nothing to do with the design's in the ciplex portfolio. You will not receive the same quality. The employees who created the designs in the ciplex's portfolio to begin with are long gone!

Ciplex is nothing but a middle man scam, they draw you in with their fancy website, beautiful portfolio, and then outsource your project to a foreign freelancer, most likely from freelancer.com

90% of ciplex's business is done by hiring foreign freelancers. They will outsource your project for 1/50th the price and pocket the rest of your money. They will lie through their teeth if confronted with undisputable evidence, and then threaten you with their attorney. This attorney is nothing but a family friend that they use for scare tacticts when a client realizes that they are being scammed by Ciplex.

Read the many reviews on google, ciplex has ripped off hundreds.

STAY AWAY FROM ciplex.com, or you will end up with a low quality web design that barely functions, and a big hole in your wallet. They are desperate to stay a float in this bad economy and will do anything they can to keep their empty office from closing.

It's laughable when you walk in the ciplex office, it's very big, but that's all it is, an empty space without any employees in sight. The receptionist is friendly though, maybe she could design your website, it would probably be better then anything the ciplex's "web designers" could offer up.

CIPLEX IS A SCAM.

My experience with Ciplex

AUTHOR: anonymous - ()

POSTED: Thursday, July 17, 2014

As a previous client with Ciplex, I spent tens of thousands of dollars and was left with very little to show for. I was impressed with their high SEO ranking and their attractive website, but was ultimately let down. I cannot attest to the many things mentioned in this report, but I can say that I searched for "Ciplex Ripoff Report" for a reason.

I felt completely ripped off. I do not know for a fact, but I was under the impression that outsourcing was done heavily, or at the very least that my thousands of dollars per month for SEO were being ill spent.

The account manager and web design coordinator were both consistently unhelpful and rude, and definitely did not seek out the growth of my business. By the time it was all said and done, I was very disappointed with my experience.

I have since mentioned my personal bad experience to several friends with hopes of deterring their use of Ciplex's services. I am currently working with someone that is providing a better solution and would advise others to seek out another solution as well.

I felt betrayed, disappointed, let down, ripped off and alone in the process. I felt like a "mark" or "target" that was cleaned out and taken advantage of.

Let the previous clients be the judge

I ask anyone interested in doing business with Ciplex to pickup the phone and call any of the companies they've done business with and ask them of their experience. Ask about Ciplex's support of fixing sites that break or even maintaining the client sites they've built. They're very well known for churning sites out, but not maintaining those clients or supporting their growth.

Every single one of our team members is full-time. We do not use freelancers. We do not outsource. That model just doesn't work in our type of industry. Outsourcing creates a bad product and is not scalable. We do employ some people oversees and never hide the fact. We're always very transparent with our clients. 80% of our staff are full-time in the US. The other ~20% are full-time in either our office in Belgrade or Jerusalem. Implementek for example, is a company owned by Ciplex. Our average hourly rate is $88.50 an hour, significantly lower than most agencies in our industry. We house some of our team members off-shore to allow us to offer those kind of savings to our clients. We staff only the best in the industry and never outsource work.

Untrue - reply from an ex-employee

First off, Joshua Krane is not an owner with the company, the company is owned by the one and only Ilya Pozin, so called writer extraordinaire with Inc. Magazine. The very same Inc. magazine which he has connections and has added his company Ciplex to their Inc. 500 list.

The majority of what is mentioned by the report filer is true and these parts being that Ciplex does indeed send their work out to freelancers and does use an offshore development team in Serbia called Implementek. They do shoddy work at best and clients are repeatedly calling back to complain that their site keeps breaking.

Ciplex does retain designers located in their Hollywood office, but the development is outsourced to freelancers or oversees to Implementek at $10 or so an hour for poor quality work. So yes, while their designers are in house, that is only half of the work and not even the most important work performed on a project. Making a site look pretty is only half the work, the other half and most important is the coding behind the design. This is where Ciplex truly fails as a company.

So while the claim of the report filer is full of truth's, it also contains a bit of emotional anger, which is expected given the fact that they were lied too, just as countless others have been.

You're best served to bring your business elsewhere, and I do agree that they are not to be trusted.

On behalf of Ciplex, I would like to respond to the factually incorrect and malicious comments posted by Chris Mitchell (or party claiming to be Chris Mitchell). The following statements are not opinion and can be verified. 1) Ciplex prices are in-line with our competition and industry standard. In fact, we specifically price projects based on number of hours estimated. 2) We did not outsource this client's work to a freelancer. Work was handled by an employee of ours who started the project in Los Angeles and subsequently returned to the Ukraine to gather belongings and complete his permanent move to the States. 3) Mr. Mitchell claims the personnel staffed to his project was not responsible for any of the projects in Ciplex's portfolio (which projects this client ADMITS were the reason he hired us in the first place). This is false. The personnel staffed to this project had previously completed NUMEROUS projects in our portfolio. 4) We have retained the overwhelming majority of the personnel that has completed projects in its portfolio. 5) We have never worked with freelancers from Freelancer.com. 6) The claim that we outsource the work at 1/50th the cost is absurd. We do not outsource and our margins are far lower than that (and in line with industry standard). 7) Our attorney is a purposefully engaged legal advisor that assists the company with various matters, including the resolution of contractual disputes and protection of our rights. 8) The claim that we have "ripped off" hundreds of clients is malicious and patently false. 9) Ciplex is a thriving enterprise with over 30 employees operating out of the LA office alone, and we can assure you the company is fiscally sound.

Once again, the above posting contains scurrilous and verifiably false claims against our company. Ciplex is an award-winning and well-respected web design firm which adheres to the highest ethical standards, and hereby demands a full and complete retraction from the party that posted the above complaint.
