I placed an order online with Circuit City. One item from my order did not arrive, however, I was charged for it. I contacted customer service on 3 separate occasions and was told that the item was being shipped to me. Customer service took it upon themselves to refund the amount charged to my credit card and not ship the item, and never notified me. I only found out about the refund after the 4th time I inquired about the missing item. That rep then told me I could reorder the item at the current price and pay for shipping and then call customer service to get reimbursed for shipping and the difference in cost in the form of a Circuit City gift card.
Get real....they want me to pay extra for their mistake and then get reimbursed with a gift card to their company!!!! So, I wrote corporate customer service who then stated that the item was unavailable at the time I purchased it and that's why I never received it. If so, why was it advertised in print and on the website? So does that make sense...they charged me for an item that was unavailable yet the bill says it was shipped!!!

Nice that things worked out

It seems to be rare that CC steps up and admits their mistakes, glad it worked out for you.
I'm surprised only one of the usual CC sniffers, T, bothered to show up here and ridicule you (half-hearted at that).

Circuit City resolved complaint
AUTHOR: Eunica - (U.S.A.)

Circuit City finally responded to my complaint and I am pleased with the result. I spoke with a representative from corporate who researched my order and saw that there were several areas where they dropped the ball and because of the situation sent me the cd free of charge. I will give Circuit City another try.
In response to the rebuttal, the cost was an issue but not the main issue. Yes, cost was important because I was locking in a certain price when I ordered the cd, and to have to reorder it is not a feasible resolution because I would either have to pay shipping cost in addition to a higher price, or place an order for $25 to get free shipping, which I had no intentions of doing either because I am not the one who made any errors. The main issue was customer service and the resolutions (prior to this update) that were offered in response to errors made on the part of Circuit City, not myself.

Anything order over $25 is free shiping so im guessing it didnt really cost that much were a gift card would of made that big of a deal.
