I have been trying to work out a solution to foreclosure on our home with Citimortgage since July. Despite numerous workable solutions packets being sent in, we have yet to receive a phonecall or letter stating that it is being worked out (in fact, when I called to follow up on the packets, I was told they didn't have anything on file and to send it in again. I have a total of THREE packets in to them). I have called at least three times per month trying to find out information about the account and its status. When it went into foreclosure, I ramped up my efforts to stay in contact and find out as much information as possible, since we were unable to pay the reinstatement amount. It has been on the market for sale since March, and we finally received an offer (a short sale) on it in November. I collected all of the information that a representative I called at the loss mitigation department told me to collect, and faxed the short sale package in on November 14 to 301 696-4473. I have called every week (sometimes twice) since then, and have been transferred around to every department imaginable, cut off numerous times, given voice mails to 'supervisors' (who have never once called me back), and have been given the general run-around. FINALLY today I got through to someone who told me my account had been CLOSED in July, and was going to try to get someone who could open up the case to do so. We'll see.

Like I said, I have never received one phone call from CitiMortgage trying to help me keep the house out of foreclosure. When I call, they tell me one of two things: 1. Either they can't help me because the account has been assigned to a law firm (who can't really do anything except foreclose on CitiMortgage's orders), or 2. The house is in foreclosure and they haven't received any correspondence from us since July (when the account was closed by them).

Also, when I first called to check on the short sale being received, a representative told me that the mortgage wasn't really owned by them - it was owned by Freddie Mac and only serviced by CitiMortgage. Can CitiMortgage legally foreclose on the property if they don't hold the mortgage?

I don't know what is going on at that company, but it seems as though their lines of communication are severely damaged. All of my calls are recorded for 'quality service,' so why am I not receiving any service at all?

The house is scheduled to be foreclosed on January 6, and it is now December 22.
