I was overdrawn for about two weeks & could do nothing about it . I live on SSI & depend on every penny of that check . They charged me a $45.00 overdraft fee & $6.99 everyday until my check came & they could deduct half of it . All I can say is thank god for Ramen Noodles ! I just want to specify this is of course a chain bank & I made this deposit in N.H. but live in R.I. & have never had any problems with the one in Portsmouth , but they must all have the same policy ...........

Go to the atm just before your bills are gonna be decducted from your acct. Choose the option for "DEPOSIT". Type in however much you need to cover your bills, (or to just take a nice shopping trip). Stick in an EMPTY ENVELOPE.

Keep an accurate check register and don't overdraw your account.
They didn't single you out, the bank treats your lack of funds as a very expensive loan. If you continue to do this, it will s****.>

But many people post here after being overdrawn just a day or so, and they usually get no sympathy because...they WERE overdrawn.
Now, I take it that being on a fixed SSI income, you are running into gaps during the 2nd half of the month between the cash you have left and the bills coming due in that period.
That unfortunately is a problem, and obviously Citizens, or any bank offering checking/debit accounts, cannot be expected to advance payments to cover such bills pending the eventual deposit of your next SSI check, at least not without typical overdraft charges being applied.
Maybe you, or an advocate working with you, can arrange for all such bills paid via this account to be paid within the 1 or 2 weeks following deposit of your check, so that the outflow is coordinated with the inflow, by changing their due dates.
If the inflow is still exceeded by the outflow, I'm afraid I have no other advice, except prayer that something good breaks for you.
See if there are any other financial institutions convenient to you who might be willing to work out a more affordable overdraft arrangement. Maybe a smaller local bank or credit union.
