I was a customer of Dave Flum who owns Clovis Marine, a boat shop/repair/dealer in the greater Fresno area.
In the Summer of 2011 I had Dave do some minor repairs on my outboard. Needless to say the bill was very high but I figured it just goes with owning a boat.
Later I had to have additional work performed so I picked another shop which has high recommendations from WestMarine suppliers.
I found that the parts that were used to repair my outboard were of questionable quality. And had to be replaced again. I began to learn that this is what Flum/Clovis Marine does.
They charge a very high going rate ($98.00 an hour) for their repair but the repair work is bad. The parts are cheap. The invoice is vague at best.
My new shop is keeping track of boat owners who have been ripped off by Clovis Marine. The list is getting longer and longer.
I support the court action pending against Clovis Marine and will contribute my experience to the
courts for their review.

As my first report states--I am an ex employee of Clovis Marine. I know exactly what Dave and Brenda Flum are all about---
I will be available for any update, court action or assistance to boat owners who have had issues with the repairs of Clovis Marine.
Clovis Marine will cheat the customer. Clovis Marine cheated customers. Sadly--I was a party to some of the conduct towards customers boats.
Clovis Marine jacks the prices and hourly rate sky high. Customers were charged for time not spent on their boat.
I am an ex employee. I KNOW what they are all about.

What is amazing is Dave Flum has the gall to even call himself a professional considering
EVERY shop in the Central California has a long list of angry customers.
Flum is a crook.
The reputation earned by Clovis Marine stands. Poor quality repairs, over priced parts, vague work orders and sloppy work.
Shop after shop has heard this time and time again. Clovis Marine will rip off the unsuspecting consumer. Flum does not stand behind his work.
Evidence is overwhelming.
Clovis Marine's reputation stands.
Arrogant. Mean spirited. Flaky. Angry. Poor quality. High prices. Work that has to be re-repaired.
I hope Flum/Clovis Marine gets their butts sued in court.
The ex employee of Clovis Marine said it all. Thieves and crooks. We thank the ex employee for their input and confirming what was already known by the many good boat shops in Fresno--
Clovis Marine is a bad place to take you boat.

Clovis Marine has been providing valley boat owners with excellent service and exceptional craftsmanship for over 18 years. Youll find our 5000 sq ft shop is equipped with the special tools necessary to make quality repairs. Our technicians are factory trained. We use only OEM "manufacturer's parts", nothing aftermarket.
If Clovis Marine did anything wrong on a repair they would be more than happy to make it right. You don't build a successful business if all you do is rip people off.
It is amazing how one ignorant person with too much time on their hands can spend so much time and energy trying to spread rumors.
