I am glad i didn't take the job.

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 07, 2003

I was interviewed and offered a position with these guys a few years ago out of an AZ office. I cannot remember why I decided not to take the job but also thought the food was grossly overpriced.

Something just did not sit right with me.

Anyways glad I made the right decision.

GOOD AND BAD.....

AUTHOR: MICHAEL S. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 19, 2003

Gee, I wonder if any other corporations in America have had similar problems (allegations)?
Ford,G.M.,Chrysler(Diamler/Benz),McDonalds....
Unless these "rip-offs" are ruled in favor of a
complaintiff on a state or federal level, quit
crying! There are laws to protect the innocent
(STUPID), on any contract in America (North),it's
called a right of recision. Excerise that freedom
and you would'nt have a bad taste in your mouth...

As a X-employee in corporate Amererica (North),
Colorado Prime in particular, they were fair and
just. Nobody was ever told to schred any documents to my knowledge. My freezer is still being filled every 6 mos. by Colorado Prime. Thank GOD because the beef in the southern region of America (North) tastes like liver. As for the individuals who bought the 4,999.00 television(s)(idiot boxes) sometimes in life we all make poor buying decisions. But I personally don't think I'd run around broadcasting my stupidity....unless the t.v. was a plasma model. Maybe, you should open a book or two and better edumacate yourself!

Thousands Of Happy Customers & Ex-Employees

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 01, 2003

I was a 12 year veteran of Colorado Prime Foods. In that time, I witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly. There were happy customers and there were unhappy customers (most large corporations have both). Some felt as if they had been "ripped off", and others felt that the quality, service, home delivery, and overall value proposition was well worth what they were paying. As far as the product goes, the food is very good, and much better than what I am able to purchase at my local grocier.

From an employee standpoint, we were all on an emotional roller coaster for the first few months of 2003. Will our department survive, or not? Colorado Prime worked hard to meet their financial obligations (primarily the employee payroll), and , in the end, offered a bonus/severance plan that was unprecedented. While the entire telemarketing and direct sales organization has been absorbed, Colorado Prime is still in existance, and will rebound. While I am not a part of this resurrection, I wish nothing but the best for Colorado Prime who not only allowed me opportunity for growth and education, but gave me the ability to provide well for my family. Again, the service is not for everyone. Not everyone is happy about the massive layoff, however, it now gives all ex-employees a different perspective on their career with Colorado Prime. Not only how much we miss the company, but truly how well compensated we were. I hope all ex-Colorado Prime employees are doing well. Keep your chin up. Trust God. He has a plan for all of us.

talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

AUTHOR: Scarlett - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 27, 2003

I have not worked for them for quite awhile. I did exactly what you said and quit!!!!!!!!!!

I was so fed up with ripping people off . When I left I received no severance package etc.

I had to fight for my vacation pay!!!!!!!!!!!!

The head honchos ( all men by the way)
as always got all the perks ,and all of the money.

The only reason that they were still in business for so long was NO INTERNET!!!!!!

Now that people can communicate across the country it's over. And by the way their competition ( who don't scam people on appliances) are still in buisness!!!!!!!!

Nice try girlfriend who were you sleeping with ???

"Scarlett" neglected to mention her severance

AUTHOR: Bev - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 26, 2003

"Scarlett" neglects to mention the bonus and severance payout she and others in her position received. It was more than most people received, myself included. Why did she continue working for such a supposedly terrible place? While it is a shame that people lost their jobs, let's keep things in prospective.

A company that has been in business over 40 years must've been doing something right. All companies have dissatisfied empolyees and customers. All sales based companies have experience shoddy saleman. You cant please everyone all the time. Management changes and the economy over the last couple of years contributed to the cutback in operation (no, the company has not closed)

After 20 years, I have no regrets and hope that the company can overcome this obstacle as it has done with similar obstacles in the past

Wishing bad things on others must make you all feel so good.

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2003

First of all we all got paid our 401k and a little bonus, Second of all Joe in Cali. if you were a consumer of C.P.Foods with out looking into the company first then that would make you just a little more stupid than us, and if you are not a consumer or ex-employee of C.P.Foods than you really need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Every person on here leaves out that this company had been in business for over 40 yrs making millions of people happy. Now please tell me of one company that has been in business for over 40yrs that's perfect. Not one of you have the right to judge us. Thank You And God Bless You All :)

Serves you right! ..You worked for a scummy company

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 19, 2003

I am glad to hear that this company is gone. I hope that the information is correct. If you loose out on any of your pay or 401K money, good. You worked for a scummy company, and you contributed to a lot of peoples' misery. How dare you complain that you got stiffed. Isn't that what you and your company have been doing for years? Don't claim that you were unaware that people were being taken advantage of either. If that is the case, you are too stupid to work in corporate America. You deserve every bad thing that can be associated with your company closing. Now noone will have to deal with these rotten people. Karma is a good thing.

getting my money out of their 401k plan.

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 13, 2003

I used to be a Colorado Prime employee up until about a month ago when I was released in the first wave of all the changes that eventually resulted in CP closing its doors a few days ago.

My first concern was getting my money out of their 401k plan. Basically, that is your money and even if CP has gone out of business, to the best of my knowledge the 401k plan has always been dealt with by an outside company that is not owned by CP or the bank that owns, or should i say owned, CP. Here is what I was told to do to get my money.

Simply either fax or mail a note to CP's Human Resources Department, stating that you are now an ex-employee and that you are requesting the "Distribution Election Forms" for your 401k plan. In the letter, make sure you list your name, home address, home phone #, your last day worked, and your social security #. The person in CP's HR Dept who deals with this is named Susan Greguski, so I advise sending this letter to her. I heard that CP's corporate offices will be open for a few more weeks as they sort this mess out, so I advise you to do this immediately. I am unsure of the fax number to HR, but CP's mailing address is: 500 Bi-County Blvd, Suite 400, Farmingdale NY 11735. I would send the letter certified mail.

I requested this info and it only took them a week to get it all back to me. They will give you the option of either cashing it out, rolling it over to a new 401k plan at a new job (if you have one already) or rolling it into an IRA. I took the option to cash it out, and if I am reading the forms right, there is a 30% tax penalty for doing so. I'm not an expert on this, so read the forms they send you carefully.

Hope this info helps everybody.
