I was a victim of fraud with my bank. My bank account had been used by someone not authorized. I during this personal problem had made a payment to Comcast. The payment was returned due to the account being closed by Bank of America. The bank had issued me another account so that I may continue banking. I then made a payment with another account I had with Regions Bank. That payment was also going to end up being returned due to the identity theft. Knowing this, I decided to pay Comcast with my new account from Bank of America and made the payment in full; prior to the second payment being returned. I knew that this would leave a large credit on my account, but the amount would satisfy the payment being returned.

One week ago I tried to make a payment using my credit card via their online system. The system said that I could not make a payment online at that time. I know have waited a week and tried to make the payment online again. That system continued to say the same thing. I now know that this is not their system simply acting up, so I decided to call them. When I was able to speak with a billing representative she explained to me that I had been blocked from being able to pay online or by phone. I was extremely irritated and explained to her that I had been a victim of identity theft. I continued to explain that I had spoken to another rep who had made all the notes on the account as to what had happened, and she also noticed that I tried being pro-active on the matter by paying in advance.

Now, I'm being told that I have to make payments in person at a Comcast facility. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO DO THIS! I think this is completely unfair and unjust. I wouldn't recommend Comcast to anyone, and I most definitely plan on using another vendor. This is not fair to me, and the last thing I needed was for one of my service providers to treat me like a criminal.

I hope this helps others know the type of corporation Comcast is, and how they treat their loyal consumers. This practice should not be tolerated by anyone, and I pray no one else goes through this; but I'm afraid there is no stopping them from being corporate bullies.

Child............

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

STOP acting like a petulant child. YOU had two payments rejected due to insufficient funds. So THEY ask YOU to come in and make a payment IN PERSON!!!!!!! Because YOU abused THEIR computer payment system. THEY don't give a rats a** about YOUR personal problems, such as your identity theft. What THEY care about is GETTING PAID!!!! You know for the services that YOU have used and STILL owe money on. THEY want to see you in person to ensure that YOU ARE YOU!!! To sit there and whine because YOU DONT HAVE TIME..is stupid and just plain childish. Get off your a** and get to a Comcast corp store and get this situation taken care of. I swear how dumb are you??? Because YOU bounced TWO payments through the online bill pay, THEY now no longer TRUST YOU!!!! Get over it and grow the hell up. YOU have NOT been ripped off by Comcast. YOU are just a whiney child who cant seem to manage their time efficiently. Its NOT like they are asking anything unrealistic out of you. All THEY want is to get paid. YOUR PERSONAL SITUATION has caused this. NOTHING that Comcast has asked of you requires a RoR. YOU are just posting this because YOU are mad that they wont let you continue to use a system that YOU have abused. Online pay and over the phone pay is a LUXURY!!!!!! A convienece that is provided to YOU to make your life easier and to get your payments in quickly. But since YOU have abused their system, THEY no longer allow YOU to use it. THAT is NOT a ripoff. Asking you to come in is NOT a ripoff. All YOU have done is show that YOU are less then mature and that YOU are a self entitled moron who is unwilling to do ANY work that YOU don't agree with. YOUR life is NOT so busy that YOU cant stop into a brick and mortar store and make a payment. YOU have ASSUMED that THEY are going to require this of you everytime. Odds are that once YOU have made a payment IN PERSON and they see for themselves that the card being used is valid, they will probably let you use the online system again. But YOU wont know until YOU go in. And look at that...yet again YOU have abused a online system. In THIS case, YOU have made a FAKE ripoff report. YOU have in NO WAY been ripped off, yet YOU seem to think it is. Unfortunatly, if Comcast doesn't like WHAT YOU have posted, THEY have a legal remedy. THEY can sue you for every penny you will EVER make. The web is a media outlet. Your first amendment rights DO NOT superceed ANYONE elses rights and that includes a business. Since YOU have presented YOUR OPINION as fact and you have done it on a media outlet, YOU have opened yourself up to the chance of getting sued. And don't think that YOU are safe sitting at home in front of your computer. All it takes is a court order or a law enforcement request and THEY will have all the proof it was YOU who wrote that post. Everything you do is logged somewhere. Yes what has happened to YOU sucks giant donkey n***. It blows that someone had access to YOUR money. But YOU are lashing out at everyone. That is UNFAIR of you to do since Comcast did NOTHING to you.

Inconvenient..yes, RipOff..Not from Comcast

You have 2 Returned Checks and sorry but what ever you may think or have an excuse of, technically you are a criminal because it CAN be a crime when a check is returned...and you had two.

It costs a company money when a check is returned, and if you have a history of returned checks you will find most(if not all) companies deny you access to their on-line system.

You also have to think about how much of this could have been avoided.  The first time can be understandable as it is possible in the 24-48 hours it takes to process a payment, you could have had an Identity Theft issue that caused your account to be closed.  But it is what happens next that is an issue.  You stated that they gave you a new account number and THEN you used a different bank.  Now, all of the sudden your 2nd bank in the same 24-48 hours it takes to process a payment that account is magically closed due to ID theft?  But at the same time you knew it was going to bounce so you then used the BoA account.  It seems that the 2nd Returned Check was totally avoidable and had that not happen you would not have sent the payment from the other bank..which you seem to know was going to bounce.

If you want to know who is really ripping you off..it is the person who used your account.

Now, as a side note.  Have you asked if you can mail in your payment?  Have you asked if you use your bank's on-line bill pay to send the payment would they accept that?
