I purchased some hardware and software from e-cost.com, the products came with rebates totaling $70. The rebate process was handled through onrebates.com. Both of my rebates were APPROVED 6/14/2006. After many months my rebates were never credited to my PayPal account and I started the process of contacting onrebate.com to find out why I had not received my rebates as promised. Every time I called I was told, "Your Rebate is approved and will be delivered in 7 to 10 days." Of course this was just "Lip Service" and I never received my rebates. In January of 2007 I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I finally heard a reply to the BBB complaint at the end of September 2007. They confirmed that my rebates were approved in June 2006 and apologized for the delay (I think the word "delay" is laughable in this case) I was given a contact person to call to verify my PayPal address so that they could finally pay my rebates. A voicemail to this contact person went unanswered and I was finally able to talk to them in person. I was promised my rebates right away. It's been two weeks and of course, nothing. I have left additional messages for this person and they go unanswered. A quick check of OnRebates.com on the BBB website will show that they have a rating of "F." I will continue to try and recover my promised rebates by writing to this site, the FTC and State Attorney General. I also have a contact at the show "60 Minutes", I think the deceptive business practices of this company would make an excellent piece for their show.

Finally received rebate checks - only 18 months late - disgusting

Received my rebate checks (they no longer do business with PayPal but I'm sure it's probably PayPal that refuses to do business with them) approximately 18 months after my rebates were approved. If not for my constant calling (at least 25 phone calls if not more), a letter to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and filing a report here, they would have gladly kept my money. ONREBATE.COM IS THE WORST CONSUMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD - END OF STORY - NO ONE ELSE EVEN COMES CLOSE! I will never buy any product that requires a rebate, especially if it's being processed by Onrebate.com! I do feel sorry for the Onrebate employees that must constantly lie to customers every day that must get to you after a while. Dont worry, when you finally quit, your severance check will be available in 7-10 days (and if you believe that Ive got some swamp land you might like to purchase).
