I purchased the Connect3D 2gb flash drive from Buy.com that was suppose to come with the $50 rebate. I too filled out everything completely and mailed it on 1-29-07. I still have not received my check which after reading the other complaints comes as no surprise.

I have explained the situation to Buy.com and I have not received a reply from them on how to rectify this situation. Buy.com is ultimately responsible for this problem so we must keep emailing Buy.com to get our rebate checks or gift certificates. One thing that gets me is that Buy.com is still selling Connect3D products. I had the greatest trust in Buy.com but it appears that you cannot trust anyone.

Buy is filing a lawsuit against Connect3D

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 09, 2007

I just received an email from Buy.com stating how they were in the process of taking Connect3D to court. This is a portion of the email.

Buy.com has submitted demands to Connect 3D to perform on its contractual obligations. Connect 3D has ignored those requests and has refused to pay Buy.com for any of the Connect 3D rebates owed to our customers.

As a result, on July 6, 2007 Buy.com filed a lawsuit in Orange County Superior Court against Connect 3D and others (including without limitation, Connect 3D's principal officers, Marc Levaggi and Mike Walsh, Connect 3D's distributor, Wintergreen Systems and Connect 3D's affiliated entities) for failure to honor commitments made to Buy.com and its customers. Litigation is unpredictable, costly and time consuming. However, it's Buy.com's belief that Connect 3D and the other defendants in this litigation should be required to honor your rebate.

In the mean time, Buy.com has given me a $10 gift certificate. This is a far cry from the $50 that I was supposed to receive, but at least it is a sincere gesture that I wasn't completely forgotten. Who knows, Buy.com may just come up with the other $40 someday.

For now, I will let Buy.com know that while I appreciate the $10 gift certificate, I certainly want the rest of my money.
