Ripoff City, South Dakota! I purchased a mobile home from these people- mortgages are peachy, full coverage insurance peachy- but, they dispute otherwise, having made continuose phone calls, verbal threats, trying to bully me to buy their insurance.

But, what did I do?....I contacted these people: Indiana Dept of insurance, Bar Association and Att'y General, all of which are sending complaint forms. I did advise Conseco of this- haven't received a call since 9am this date. PS- they threaten to forclose my home prior to my lashing out.

Conseco's holiday

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 02, 2003

April Fool's Day came and went without a single call from South Dakota. 9:42A.M., April 2nd, Conseco Amy (another newbie)called with an inquiry on (instead of $114) they now demand $199 and without any type of explanation. Reguarding the diverted payments, (refer to previous update), Amy said, "Well, d**k is wrong." and went on to say that she (they) we going to keep calling "every day". Bring it on- the longer the complaint list, the better!

Lonnie another Conseco thug member has called with threats

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 01, 2003

Just a short note to say that my "fan mail" is growing, as yet, another Conseco thug member has called with threats of forclosure. And it's my understanding, that a REAL reputable company will not hand the account from one person to the next in hopes that one is meaner than the other. :-) (smile)

To St. Louis, not, South Dakota, one nice person named Richard revealed.

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 01, 2003

I called the Conseco office to inquire on the delivary of my next (early payment), where lo and behold, thing HAD BEEN delivered and signed by "D. Leetch" on March 29, 03!! Surprize!!!

During this conversation, d**k, as he prefers, made corrections on the delivary address, as my payments were to be sent to St. Louis and NOT to the South Dakota branch....how very interesting, huh? I suppose this answers the question on some of my problems that I've encountered over the last century in a matter of 5 to 6 months.

Conseco South Dakota seemed to have made a point NOT to disclose this information to me and as I go back in time, I do recall sending payments to the St. Louis office and never did I have problems.

At some point, somehow, South Dakota got ahold of my address; I thought nothing about it and began sending them there, all the time, believing I was doing the right thing!
Thank you for the latest rebuttal. I agree, politeness kills them in the worst way and SILENCE is deafening!

I, in the beginning of all of this found myself in the middle of a losing battle as I put on defences (or tried to). It didn't take me long, at all, to figure what feeds these parasites! I stopped the pleads for "quit it, or I'll tell" and turned to filing complaints, stating my case and ending with "Have a nice day".

*******THANK YOU, SO MUCH, my beloved "Ripoff.com"!!!********

How WRONG I was!

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 31, 2003

Sunday, March 30, 7:54 P.M., Eric Conseco called to inquire on payment, only THIS time, it was referred as a late mortgage, that earlier in the week, Kim Conseco swore that she "can refuse payment by mail", that of which was sent certified and for return signature.

I advised Eric of my filing complaints with agengencies: Attorney Gen, FTC, BBB, etc, etc, and he goes on with "You can threat all you want....you know that you're wrong!" Little does he know, these are not "threats", they are facts. No sooner I hung up the phone, he called back, left a message "You are wrong and you know it!!"

****Late entry****
March, 27, 03, I inquired to Kim Conseco on the balance of the home. She refused to disclose this info with, "I can't give that to you until you pay." To her utter surprize, I revealed the quote from payment history that I'd received from Eric, which, by the way, I found him quite pleasant on our first conversation (some time ago) and was under the impression that he'd been fired for being nice- THAT'S where I was wrong!
March 31,'03, 1:42 P.M.,

Eric rang the phone in sussessions of FIVE times, before leaving message ( I wasn't here during this) to state, "You are in breech of contract. You are wrong. You can threat all you want, 'cause I've heard it all before." Again, Certified mail- return signature. I'm paying ahead of schedule, just to see what happens next.

Driving them nuts...

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 30, 2003

My husband co-signed for his brother who lost his job and defaulted on his double wide. He got another temp job several months later and was hoping that one would work out but it didn't no thanks to Conseco's C.J who called him and harassed him at work as well as with his neighbors and stuff.

I thought to myself. Man these guys must not have much to do with them calling five or six times a day. (If you have 100 delinquent accounts before you in a day, a typical collector usually only calls about once a week....too much business and phone calls to make). However C.J. seemed to have made it his life and would call constantly all over Detroit, his neighbors, his landlord, his parents, his other brother and then they finally started calling us.

They tried to make it sound like my brother-in-law was a deadbeat, a loser but I knew better. I was very polite with them and I said very little. They didn't know what to do with that.

I suggest the next time that Nicole calls you and harasses you, don't make excuses, don't beg, don't argue with them by pointing out how bad their company is (they know but don't care), just let her do all the talking and you do the recording. Silence is golden and they cannot handle it. It drives them nuts. THen when they finish their speel, just say "Thank you, Nicole for calling. Have a nice day." Don't promise anything, don't offer anything.

It freaks them out.

FTC I need you!!

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 30, 2003

Today, Sunday, March 30, 2003, I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I now wait for their response. To add to my comments, just as I was filing reports to State Attorney General and the Indiana Deptment of Insurance, Conseco ( no name given) called with more threats to forclose MY home and I WILL repeat, that ALL of this stems from and unexisting Conseco Homeowner's policy. Westfield Group is where the house is insured and with full coverage.

Conseco Nicole wasn't interested... somehow, they are truely convinced that there IS blood in a turnip.

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 29, 2003

It's Saturday and Conseco, as the reliable ones they are, called me bright and early! Then, again this afternoon, once I left the net. I advised her of complaints to come their way and she wasn't interested. She (they) continue to instist that I owe for "insurance" and boligerantly demand that I provide "check through the mail" or Western Union! By that time, my certified letter had more than likely arrived accompanied with the monthly mortgage payment....somehow, they are truely convinced that there IS blood in a turnip.

They Can't take your Mom's Home in trade...

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 29, 2003

Legally they cannot do anything. This amounts to a threat that they cannot legally do especially if your Mom's house is not listed on the contract as collateral. If there is no collateral, they cannot touch your personal possessions except the home that is listed in the contract.

The only way that they can take a home is if they have a lien against it which is usually secured by a valid and binding contract with that home listed as collateral.

Since they threatened this action, they have committed an illegal act and it becomes grounds for setting aside the contract. Get your mom and get an attorney.

Warm welcome FBI investigators!!

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 29, 2003

I just learned that the FBI investigates these reports and I welcome them with open....mouse!
I suppose Kim, Eric, Kerry and Brenda decided to pawn the job on Nicole, which by the way, I inquired about the spelling of her name, she retorts with, "Well, yeah, how else are you gonna spell it?!" Okay....down to business with more harrassments on payments (red flag) I sent mine via return signature (as of yesterday morning, just before I found this wonderful website and will continue to do so, as this will be a tool in my favor, combined with overnight delivary....They sign for things right then and there! Another thing, Conseco has been harrassing my mother and threating to take HER home in trade....I don't think so!! The rest of the telephone calls will be recorded and tallied for future referrence.

I am appauled at the many ripoff reports

AUTHOR: Sandi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 28, 2003

With popcorn in hand and reddened eyes, I am appauled at the many ripoff reports that I so found myself absorbed! So far, no Conseco phone calls or threats of "Hope you enjoy living where you're living, 'cause it won't happen very much longer." as stated by Conseco Kerry.
