Costume Hut - Costume Disguises ripoff Lambert Quebec

I went on Costume Hut's website (www.costumehut.com) back in March, 2005. I attempted to put an order in for a child's costume (US cost at that time was around $25). I never got any confirmation via my email that an order went through. I assumed the company was out of business.

Fast forward almost six months. At the end of August, 2005--perhaps not so ironically, the very day before the credit card I attempted to use on Costume Hut's site was set to expire--Costume Hut charged my card US $65! I got an email saying they were sending me this costume and charging me the $65.

I replied that I never ordered it. The order I attempted to place did not go through. I never received any confirmation email on it, no communication, nothing. Also, the amount of the charge was outrageous.

I had VISA cancel the charge.

I have followed up several times with the company. I asked them to hand over all communication they had sent me regarding the costume. They responded once, but dodged my specific requests and questions. Then, after a very strongly worded email from me to the company, they ceased to reply.

Bottom line: This company is a fraud. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH IT. It also goes by the name Costume Disguises (www.costumedisguises.com).
