This woman is a real smooth talking, convincing horse trader. (more like traitor). She starts out so friendly and charasmatic using her family life and children in annologies to gain your trust in her.
I was very hesitant to buy a horse unseen, but she convinced me this was a great horse and perfect for what I wanted to do with her. She offered a 30 day trial period, with full refund if for any reason I was not happy with the horse. She was so easy to talk to and described the horse in so much detail I felt it might me the right horse for me. In addition to that she assurnce that I could take the horse for a 30 trial period, paying 50% down payment and assurance my deposit would be returned in the event I did not want to buy it made me feel very comfortable about trying her mare out.
The horse arrived on a Monday. She looked very thin and much older than 12 years old as stated by Courtney. From the moment I turned her out in her paddock she was hightly stressed and continued to run much of the time. I did not like her conformation or disposition and decided to return her without even trying her out. Six days later I drove her myself to Langcaster to Courtney's residence and handed her over to her assistant.
She accused me neglect and damaging her horse. She insisted the horse was lame and I would not be getting my deposit back. I told her as a horse lover, and responsible horse owner I gave her the best care possible. Food, water, shelter, and free range pasture. She never settled down and did look to have lost some weight during her short visit due to her high strung nature or possibly had other problems, but I most certainly gave her more than adequate care.
She said the mare was being treated by a Vet for a knee injury, and serious weight loss, but would not let me talk directly to the vet. I insisted she have x-rays taken and I would share costs. She did not want to spend money on the x-rays. She continued to complain about her weight loss and injury and refused to give me my deposit or her Vets information. I felt bad if the horse really was having knee problems, but knew it had to be an old injury from her past -not something that happened at my house.
I realized I was never going to see my deposit when months later I called her to ask how the horses knee was doing. She said she had to give the mare away because it kicked her son. She actually said the horses's personallity changed in the six days I had her. Wow. This is a horse she sold me for my grandchildren to ride! I reminded her very high quality expensive horses are shippied all over the world for breeding, showing, selling, racing, etc. How could I have caused a personality change in the six days here in my beautiful pasture and barn????? She also had my quiet 28 year old mare for company.
In my opinion this woman is a liar and a cheat. She sold me a horse with a prior knee injury, bad dispostion, and obviously much older than 12 years old, and refused to return my deposit. Do not buy anything from her, especially a horse!

Oh and how about how you "dropped" her off with the stall cleaner when you knew I wouldn't be home?!?!?

And one more important detail I fogot to include in my rebuttal. You strategically "dumped" her back off here when you knew I wouldn't be home! I told you the dates I was going to be out of town. And yet you specifically decided to drop her off during the 3-day period when you KNEW I wouldn't be home? Hmmmm could that be because you wanted to dump her and speed away so I wouldn't be there to see her diplorable condition as she stepped off your trailer. Why else would you come when you knew I wouldn't be here. And you handed her off to the stall cleaner! Who does that?
You bought something. You tried to return it after you "broke" it. Yet I still refunded a portion of your money. I was NOT obligated to do so. And now 1 1/2 years later you post this garbage! The true warning should be against you. No one ever should sell their horse to you, or lease a horse to you. You should be ashamed of yourself.

In my current state of being incensed at this untruthful report, I made some typos. The emails I have from you complimenting the horse was AFTER she arrived to you. You comlimented her confirmation and her beauty and her kindness.

Setting the record straight
AUTHOR: cahorse - ()

Let's set the record straight. You were offered a pre purcahse exam either here or at your place by your own vet. You declined. Multiple pictures and video were provided of said horse moments prior to stepping on the trailer for your place. I have in writing from you an email stating "how beautiful she is" and how "I love her confirmation" and "She is so sweet and kind". You wrote me a few days later with concerns that she wasn't eating. And that you were NOT following her diet that I had told you she had been on for many years. You also were concerned that she was racing through your pasture non-stop and working herself up to a sweat head to toe. I expressed much concern over her well-being. I wanted you to return her. YOU CHOSE TO KEEP HER AND ONLY RETURNED HER 3 WEEKS LATER! The condition she was returned in was DIPLORABLE! You broke the contract. You didn't care for her properly. You didn't return her in the same condition as when she arrived. STILL THROUGH I REFUNDED A PORTION OF YOUR DEPOSIT, EVEN THOUGH BY CONTRACT I WAS BEHOLDEN TO. I DID THIS ANYWAY OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART.
Folks, this was a year and 1/2 ago. Anyone can say anything on the internet, without any validation or truth. Just because someone says it, doens't make it true. You are in the wrong. You broke the contract. PERIOD.

You bought a horse without actually seeing the horse!!!! SO you are responsible for this. I have been riding horses for 45 years (mostly barrel horses) and never, EVER bought a horse without riding the horse, having it vet checked and having the horse checked by my brothers (who ride and break horses for a living and shoe as well).
Of course she was stressed - she was just taken to a new place and needed to get settled. Last time I took a horse over 6 hours away he lost weight, was stressed and refused to eat until he was settled down. SO you bought a horse site unseen and wanted to have this horse for your grandchildren??? YOU made a HUGE mistake so this is on you.
