What a terrible company!!! At least here in VA, they took over for Media General who i thought was bad until Cox took over. The service is horrid - they can give you a 4 hour window at BEST for when someone will be there, and that's usually not right either - so you've gotta sit around and waste a day for them to come fix something they've already tried to fix 4 times before. The only saving grace there is that the tech's are usually very nice and do what they can at the time. BTW, several tech's told me they have sattelite!!!

The picture is terrible! Grainy, always going out, and everyone i talk to says how bad reception is when it rains (i should say non-existant) - yet they refuse to run new cable.

They're channels suck too, but apparently Road Runner (cable modem) is pretty good (considering).

I was soooooo glad to switch to DirecTV!!! Great channel selection for the same price, and the picture and sound are fantastic 99% of the time! (a 98% improvment over Cox) Cust service is great too! They always are happy to help and are courtious on the phone.

I'm just writing this for people thinking about changing to cable or who are new in the area.

Rebuttal:

COX is a sad bunch, they are trying to force their satellite system down our throat I do not want it. I want the same programs on regular cable, after all the are't giving you any HBO only old movie channels and channels tthat is free on regular cable. We use to get TBN but now they want you to pay to get it on cable. With a anttena it is free. Why try to rip of the poor????

Rebuttal:

This company won't rebut because they are a MONOPOLY. They don't have to be nice because most people don't have other options. I believe there should be other cable companies who COMPETE for the business and therefore are FORCED to offer good customer service. The only other company worse with customer service is QWEST WIRELESS---STAY AWAY FROM THAT TOO!!! At

least you do have a choice.



Cox Cable techs are super, but they too think it is a JOKE. I called Cox to ask why I wasn't offered the very "basic" cable when I installed, which is only 19.00 a mo. She stuttered and stammered around and finally said she didn't know, but if I wanted it now, they would have to come out and turn something off and that would cost me 20+ dollars!!! Can you believe

that? She also suggested that I'd be "sorry" and then they'd have to come back out and turn it on and that would be ANOTHER 25 dollars. AFTER BURNING HER EARS, I heard a "click" which was a blank space in the conversation at which time I think her supervisor was having a brief conversation with her and then she came back on and said, "Well, bye, is there anything else I can do for you? (all sweet). I felt like throwing up.

If we all just had the had the balls to quit watching tv and put them out of business that would be fabulous, but I guess that won't happen, so we are stuck!! HANG IN THERE--WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND!!

I think this company sucks too! I stood in line so long to pay my cable bill it was horrible... there was only one window, and then the worker had an attitude when she got to u.... I wish our area accepted Time Warner, and I wouldn't have to deal with being treated like this.... I'm about to get me a dishnet...

Rebuttal:

I DO NOT SUPPORT COX !!! My cable had not been working for appx. 3 days. That is fine since I do not watch much t.v.I assumed they had suspended my service due to past due payments.Ihave paid the amt due and the cable service did not come back.Last nite (3-09-01)I called the "customer service" (what a joke) line. I waited on hold for 20 minutes.



When I finally spoke with a rep I was told that my service was

DISCONNECTED. I asked what did I need to do to reconnect it.He explained I needed to talk with the collections agent I had been working with. (I had never been contacted by any agent of COCKS.Not in the least a collections agent).



I told so and asked again what needed to be done to continue service. I was told that a tech needed to come out and reinstall the cable. There is a $24 fee for this. In addition they required a $60 deposit. I told him nevermind.The first time they came out, their installer made a mess of coaxial cable, plastic, and dust from installation in my home.



I told him to come pick up their boxes. They dont do this. I have to return them. If I dont they will bill me $500/ box.



Their customer service is beyond poor. I currently have their phone service. It sucks too. I will switch to my original phone service.



COCKS or COX how ever you spell it the name reflects their attitude toward the people who keep them in business.
