I would like to start this off by saying that I have had a Car Loan with Credit Acceptance Corp for two years now.My payments have been made on time until Nov. of 09. I have recently become unemployed w/o benefits. My Payments are due on the 15th every month. I had called them on Dec 12th work out payment arrangements. They told me on the phone to pay $150 every 2 weeks until caught up. So I paid $200 on Dec 12th and $170 on Dec.25th (Christmas by the way). Totally fulfilling the agreement. I received A phone call Yesterday Dec. 29th , 2009 in which they told me I needed to pay more money to keep the account current. I tried very politely to explain the agreement that was made , they had no record. I spend several hours trying to call back to get someone who wasn't rude , well that was a lost cause. They didnt want to hear anything I had to say. Then they told me they were shutting the car off with their magical switch, and that they were coming to repo the car today.
Now before you people start bashing me here. I know I was late on my payments in Nov. The issue here is that they made a payment arrangement with me I fullfilled it , they are not sticking to it. They point blank lied. This company forced me into buying the extended warranty which is useless , and also illegal to force upon customers in the U.S. I dont want the vehicle to get repo'ed I explained to them if they take it I cant afford to get it back. They would rather default the loan. Its sad.
I start a new job next Monday in which between my wifes and Myself Incomes would pay it up to date quite quickly. They dont want to hear it. BEWARE OF CAC - I would love a lawsuit.

i was a customer of cacc too. my post is the milledgeville,ga one. i know everyone that you are saying is true-the rudeness-the lies and the disrespect. i too did not know that i didn't have to buy that warranty-they never ask you-they just put it in your contract and i was dumb enough to sign-they also do not give you an option of automatic withdrawal from your bank to make the payments-the salesmen make you think that that is the standard option. i was lucky enough to trade my car off and purchase something else but i would have never used them if i had known their immoral and unethical tactics. i am waiting on my refund for the unused portion on my wynnes contract and their reps tried to give me the run around on that. did they get your car? if you can ,keep this locked in a garage, do not drive it,they cannot breach the peace to get it.i was lucky i did not have a shut down system or whatever on my car. get the payment caught up if you can. if you feel they are going to get it anyway, make them work or go thru the law to get it because once they have possession, they can charge whatever bullcrap fees they want for you to get it back. also remember though that if you do get it caught up and if you ever have another proplem again,you are right back in the same boat with these devils. i would love to get in on a class action lawsuit to but i do not know how to proceed. i wish that a bunch of cacc customers would plan a protest or something in southfield, so that maybe the local news or something would take notice. they are predatory lenders and they are getting away with this and we as consumers are letting them.
