INCOMPETENCE, UNKINDNESS, and LOSS OF BELONGINGS:

Fool that I was, even after reading another RipOff Report on Cross Country Van Lines I still hired them. MISTAKE! I ended up very disappointed.

Not only did CCVL not deliver at the promised time so that I could not be present and had to ask a friend to receive my shipment, they FAILED TO TELL ME the particular form of payment they required so that when they finally did show up they refused to unload and drove away!

I was out of the country at the time dealing with my home having been destroyed by Hurricane Ike, so I phoned the Cross Country Van Lines boss and asked him for consideration under the circumstances and to please accect the check I had left for them.

Owner Michael DiBenedetto is a cold, uncompassionate, robot of a businessman who was unable to take responsibility for his employees errors, and he refused me any help of any kind whatsoever, period! I made other arrangements.

Okay, all this left me rather unhappy. But here's the kicker:
LOTS OF MY STUFF IS MISSING!! And isn't that the real point of the exercise?

So I'd recommend that after you read two RipOff Reports on this company you do NOT hire them. I think you'd be inviting trouble.

Unhappy client

This customer makes false statements

AUTHOR: Anthony Ayala - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, August 21, 2009

As there is no name listed on this complaint, I wasn't able to look up the specific details for this move. However, I would like to address the three things this person complained about.

"CCVL did not deliver at the promised time"
As with most movers, we don't guarantee or promise a specific date or time for delivery.
We have delivery "timeframes" that we state clearly in writing on all quotes that we send out which the customer signs prior to the move.(7-14 business days for coast-to-coast moves)
Delivery dates are subject to various factors such as deliveries made enroute, etc, so our drivers contact the customer at least 48 hours prior to delivery to let them know what the exact date and time will be.

"they FAILED TO TELL ME the particular form of payment they required "
All of our sales reps go over the acceptable forms of payment and the fact that we accept only certified funds at delivery (as most movers do)
Our acceptable forms of payment and requirements are also clearly stated on all of our quotes and in the confirmation e-mail that is sent to each customer when a reservation is made.

"LOTS OF MY STUFF IS MISSING!!"
If any of our customers are missing items all they would have to do is contact us and let us know. We would then immediately attempt to locate their items by contacting the other customers that were delivered on that particular vehicle and also perform an internal search at our warehouse.
As we dont outsource or subcontract any part of our customers moves, our customers items are always under our direct control so it is typically very easy to locate missing items.

Our customers satisfaction with our services is very important to us and I welcome the opportunity to address and resolve any complaints or issues.

I must disagree

I used the company (Cross Country Van Lines) for my move from CA to NJ back in January 2009. They were very polite and professional about there job. There Customer Service staff was very helpful and kept me posted at all times about my belongings. There moving crew also was 1 of the hardest working men that I've seen. I must admit they made my move very stress free for me. I must say it was a pleasure to have them move my home goods and would recommend them to all my friends and family.

Phony Report

AUTHOR: Dave Pivas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 14, 2009

This sounds af it was written by another moving company attempting to trash a competitor.
If you are truthful and so confident in your complaint you should at least use your real name and allow for some contact information.
The method of payment is clearly stated on all documents and told to all customers from point A to point B.
This is nothing but a bunch of rubbish.
