I have no idea whether their 36-month program will actually leave you debt-free, as it claims to do, but it does destroy your credit with lightning speed. You cannot just stop paying your credit card bills, even though the Credit Solutions sales representative assured us that it would only "slightly affect" our credit. Slightly? After four months, no landlord would touch us and we were almost out on the street! We were labelled "headed for bankruptcy", since our credit score dropped more than 100 points and we were delinquent on four accounts.

So... if you have absolutely NO need for anybody to check your credit for the next four-five years, go ahead and give it a try. If not, stay away! We are lucky to have a roof over our heads - a friendly realtor managed to persuade our landlord to lease to us with a $3605 deposit (on a $600 a month apartment).

In the end, we settled with the credit card companies ourselves, and we hope to have our credit score back to an acceptable level in less than a year. But we are lucky, since we recently had a very large increase in salary and benefits and are therefore in a position to solve our financial difficulties.

By the way - apart from your credit score taking a nose dive, your credit card debt sores when you take Credit Solution's advice and stop paying your bills - 35% interest and late payment fees do tend to add up. Another thing they do not tell you about.
