After all of the time I had put into my research, it has still left me know where except to get a piece of mind knowing that Corporate could care less about what happens to the jobs and the economy in the U.S. because of the poor decisions made by the Big 3 meaning Ford, Chrysler and GM the corporations needed a way out to increase sales and to do it quickly to make up for lost revenue. The first to go is usually labor. Well the assembly was subbed out to Mexico which involved some or all of the vehicles in the case of my truck it was all of the vehicle, after my investigations with the Mexican assembled vehicles I noticed that there was intentional damage done during the assembly line at the factory warehouses.

Here are a few examples: the Differential in my truck was a Chrysler Posi-traction; when the carrier was assembled the clutches on the right side were packed much too tightly. Thus when taking a turn left or right the rear end would chatter. Now when I purchased the truck it had 18,000 miles on the odometer and it was late December the roads were either wet with rain or snow and being that it was 2 wheel drive, the tail end would break loose and kick out which is not uncommon.

However when the road was dry it would chatter. Now when this happens with the clutches being so tight the material on the clutches would heat up and eventually break off leaving the steel plates between the clutches to rub together causing the chatter and metal fragments to circulate through out the differential housing causing additional damage to all bearings and races.

The next part of the damage was the transmission. Now I know Chrysler has a lot of so called fixes for the symptoms of the noise and delayed engagement not shifting in to over driver and just plain no movement at all. This was caused by torn valve body gaskets between the valve body and the steel separator plate or the separator plate and the actual transmission housing. It is impossible for the gasket to tear on it's because the gasket is compressed when you torque the valve body bolts to the transmission housing.

You will also notice that the gasket is buckled or kinked between the steel plate and the valve body which is where most of the tears are, the funny thing is it was almost in the same exact location every time I dropped the valve body. This also applied to Ford transmissions.

To this day I've noticed when driving a 2005 Ford Explorer that it had the same symptoms delayed engagement and delayed shifting. That is how you can tell it is intentionally sabotaged additional damage can occur because of this tampering fluid can draining back into the transmission pan allowing no lubrication to get to the bushings and bearings on the top end like the torque converter bushing, planetary, clutches and veins for the front pump.

This will cause shot term of life of the transmission and will also damage any electrical parts of the transmission like the electromagnets for torque converter lockup, over drive and governor pressure solenoid. The solenoids get hot when activated and when surrounded by metal caused by insufficient lubrication the solenoids retain the heat and the insulated windings from the solenoids will eventually break down and short out which will cause the trans to go into fail safe mode allowing the transmission to either not sift out of gear from first to second or to stay in second gear or not have any over drive.

Next is the engine in my trucks case the intake manifold gasket was torn now, the intake gasket has material on each side of a perforated steel gasket so you can imagine what kind of force it would to tear the gasket. The engine does not have enough vacuum to suck the gasket between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. The vacuum pressure would have to be pronominal in order to draw the gasket.

Next is the Plenum which is pretty common in the 5.2 liter V-8 engines when you have a gasket that is about 6 mil thick and you have the heat of the engine which is causing the expansion and contraction of the intake manifold and the steel plate it opens and closes the area where the gasket is mounted up allowing the oil in the crank case of the motor to be drawn in through that opening which then softens the paper gasket which will also allow the vacuum to draw in the paper gasket and tear the gasket.

At this point and time you will notice excessive oil consumption and ruff running condition and pinging on acceleration which is the oil burning in your combustion chamber which in fact will plug up your catalytic converter and cause loss of power especially when under acceleration.

With other manufactures you will find other issues related to tampering or incorrect tightening of bolts rivets, electrical connections, seals etc. Due to the excessive damages the only thing that a manufacture can do is patch the damaged areas because time and financial issues.

By the way I did get a hold of Tom LaSorda's Secretary and her name is Cheryl
Here is the e-mail; tgl@dcx.com

You can send her a note letting her know about your issues with Chrysler and the lack of honesty with the public.

As for the other Manufactures Ford and GM I would assume that you will get the same response lack of honesty and professional ethics.

Respectfully,

Howard
