Direct Energy misleading information to gain customer and charging unknown amounts for Nest Houston TX

I signed up for Direct Energy in February of 2015.  At the time that I signed up, I was told that I was receiving the lowest rate available at that time.  That was completely misleading information.  I noticed that my electricity bills were extremely high, and I called Direct Energy to inquire as to why.  I found out that my rate per KWH was 11.89 cents vs. the .09 cent rate being offered by Eversource.  When I first signed up, I was told they would be sending me a NEST system that would cut my bill in half, which they did.  They said that the system was being provided as a curtesy to new customers

When I called to cancel the account, I was informed by the representative that there would be a $200 eauipment recovery fee.  This was not specified during the call, I was told that the NEST system was complimentary whether I stay with them or not.  I asked him for the agreement that I initially made with Direct Energy, because this was not specified during the sales call.  On the agreement, it states that there is a recovery fee for the NEST system they provided, however, the agreement also states that there is a $0 cancellation fee if cancelled during the initial Term.  I feel that I have been completely misled, and I want to alert everyone to Direct Energy's unethical practices.
