Consumers beware!!!,

My mother who is 75 years old and on a fixed income, was trying to down size her monthly bills, specifically brighthouse cable, after watching Att's commercial on bundling your services at a savings decided to give them a call. I was on a three way call with her to Att, sitting up our bundle package with their U-Verse service when their rep said, wait maybe I can save you even more with Direct TV instead of U-Verse, If you bundle your phone, internet, and direct tv together than your monthly bill will be only $89+ change for 1 year than increase to $110.00 there after never any more. It sounded good so we agreed for their bundle package, this is where they ask for your credit card or debit to pay a one time fee to direct tv for installation.($21.00). We did, and had everything switched. Two days after Direct tv made their installation we received a bill for $86.00 +, shocked we called the number on the bill and was told by Direct tv, that they were separate from Att, and that was my first bill in advance, and then said the bundle deal did'nt even start untill March 2010, and this was November.

This not only is not a savings, but we were still going to get a seperate bill from Att for internet, and phone service. We called Att and ask what was going on since they had said absolultly not one single word about bundles not starting untill March or about seperate bills, and seperate charges, they lead us to believe that this was a 1-in all, like their commercial states, But they said they could correct it, by signing us up for U-Verse instead (which is what we wanted in the first place) with a little difference in the bill, we found this acceptable, but inquired about who was going to pay Directs cancellation fee? Att told us they would send us a check to cover Directs fees, and to not cancel Direct out untill Att did their installation. We cancelled Direct tv on Dec,18th,and on Today Dec,28, they have deducted $505.00 dollars from my mothers bank account! We NEVER gave Direct Tv our card info to begin with this was given to Att only for that one time installation charge, and apparently THEY gave it to Direct.Long story short Att, did not even note our account concerning a check or them being the ones who actually breached the contract, by not giving correct info, and down right witholding other pertinent info.

So today no one at Att knew what we were talking about check and all, But they did say today they would mail out another check between 7-10 business days, don"t know if this will happen, I don't have much faith in their word anymore and in the mean time we don't know how we are going to pay mortgage, gas. lights, etc...and to make matters worst my mother did not have $505.00 in her account so Chase is hitting her with over the limit fees, and refuses to do anything to help.
