Dish Network Had Hopper installed in 4 rooms on Friday 9/20/13. Monday I called and tried to cancel my service and was told NO, plus they will charge me $230.00 El Paso Texas
I had Dish for 3+ years and wanted to upgrade to the Hopper & 3 Joeys. I asked about keeping one of the receivers for my travel trailer and was told no problem. I was told that my bill would go down to $49.00 On Friday evening (5PM) they installed the hopper, and when I was not standing over the young man he grabs the two receivers and out to the truck he went... I asked him about the receiver for my travel trailer and he pulled out a Dish and receiver in a box he had in the back of his truck and told me I could buy it for my trailer but he had to take the two receivers I had in my house.
Now I do not have a receiver to use with the DISH I used when I travel. Not very happy Friday Night. When I went to bed I was watching one channel and my daughter changed the channel in her bedroom and my bedroom TV changed at the same time. I changed it back and she did the same. I went and turned her TV Off! 4 rooms and only 2 tv's on and we could not watch two different channels. I called and complained and they told me how to use up to 3 different channels off the single Hopper. The weekend proved me two days to use this system and I Knew it was not for me or my family. Monday I called and asked them remove their Hopper equipment.
I was told that it would cost me $230.00. When I told them I have 3 days in Alabama to change my mind. The man on the phone passed me off onto a "Problem Solver/Supervisor" and they still did not take my request to send boxes for their equipment. I asked the Supervisor to review my original call and to please have the President of Dish call me as I was told I could keep one old receiver for Travel and . I called back yesterday and they tried to put a 2nd Hopper in my house and two more Joeys.
The Bill came in my email while I was on the phone and the $49.00 was now $220.00 for one month. When I added this to my complaint I was transfered to a lady who said she was in the President's Staff and could fix everything. I asked for boxes and she started telling me it would cost me $230.00 to drop Dish before 2 years and if I did not have my equipment back to them in 34 days they would auto-draft it out of my checking account using the credit card they had on file. She gave me the address to send the equipment back.
The salesman on the phone lied: (1) I could keep one receiver to use in my Travel Trailer. (2) My bill would go down from over $90 to $49.00 with Free HBO for 90 Days then have to pay $5 a month for each premium channel (Starz and HBO) I got a Bill for $220.00. (3) The Hopper allowes 6 TV in a house with 5 Joey's - Was not told that only 3 channels can be watched at a time so the other 3 tv's have to watch one of the other channels in use.
The Customer Service Rep would not let me drop Dish and used BULLING and $230.00 as punishment for trying their "New" Hopper Service. When I asked to talk to a Supervisor all I got was another BULLY who read from the same script. When I asked to speak to someone even the President of DISH, the call was terminated.
I never received the boxes, and when I called on Tuesday 11/5/2013 I was passed two times and the last person who said they were in the Presidents office would send boxes and I would be charged $17 for each label. Again she told me Dish will Auto-charge my credit card they have on file if they do not have equipment in 34 days. A BULLY Script used by everyone at DISH.
At DISH their Sales Team promises anything it will take to get their junk in your house and if your not happy it will cost you $230.00 one way or another.
